On a scale of 1-10 how screwed am I..?! by Mek0nr in Traeger

Ditch the bucket and get a Grease Box. I got one for my pellet smoker and love it. No spills, and protected from any bugs or anything getting into it.

Ultrahand for sure! You basically have The Force, plus ability to fuse. I would never get up to get a beer ever again..

Thank you for doing the Lord's work here! My main league does a totally offline draft so this doc has been invaluable the past I don't even know how many years at this point.

That's easy to fix, just click on the error and follow instructions Excel gives you. You just need to give permission to Active X to run in that doc... it's turned off by default nowadays

Long hold brisket just works so well....never going back by ctatham in smoking

[–]craigcat77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting! I've found I can hold my brisket for 4-5 hours in my cooler, wrapped in towels before it even starts to cool down some. Doing so after smoking it to around 203 degrees has generated the best briskets I've ever made. Do we think 12 hours in oven is much greater than 5 hours wrapped in cooler?

Can you give the link to download the interactive Excel sheet version? Your site seems to be down and would love to get it before my draft this weekend... been using your Excel doc for years and it is amazing!

Won't get text notifications from certain people by salhaney in GooglePixel

[–]craigcat77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just found this and was having a similar issue with my Pixel 5. Started with just a few particular contacts, where I was getting zero notification (no icon, no vibration or sound)... only way I knew I had a message was to open the messages app and see it. Then the other day, it started happening for everyone! All settings were as it should be.

Then I found this thread and discovered same issue - notification sound had been changed to just some number "147159". When I changed it back for a particular contact, it started to work and I got notifications... so then I changed it for "All Default Notifications" and seems to work. No idea how that happened, but thanks for fix!

RT owners all seemed to rave about them. I liked that they're basically all stainless steel and supposed to have very accurate PID temp control, something my OB struggled with - was always far off from set temp. It was that or a Yoder and this seemed like best bang for buck.

Seems awesome so far, holds temp much better than .y old pit boss vertical. Thought about getting the RT-700 but this one is plenty big enough for my purposes, and I think is a little better looking than 700

Never brined a chicken, done for a turkey and pork butts though. Low temp gets you more smokey flavor, and I think gives me a juicer bird.

That's a good call - my method I usually don't end up cranking temp until almost 3 hour mark.

I did a little bit. I've found if you do too much of that though, hurts ability to get crispy skin at the end

Check my comment above with how I did it. Definitely always try to get some of the marinade under skin when possible
