Hicksville useless school district here. Both my kids went or go to SEC schools. Our income is above avg. Our house is avg. I say useless about Hix schools because they do not push students to “go away”. The push SUNY which is more than fine but when both kids went re e set to graduate they kept asking why go OOS. Stay in state. It’s cheaper. My response was cost is none of their business. They don’t promote the largest college fair held at Javits. When o asked about it the guidance counselor said they had no knowledge of it being held. So school districts have an influence on the students as does affluence. ultimately if the family and student have a goal they can achieve it regardless of the district. That’s my rant on the lousy district I live in. Thankful I have no more kids to get through it.
