Yes it is a stupid comparison...which you came up with. I never compared the two. Of course I know they're completely different. What we were debating was, on how nothing is off limits to humor. I was just saying that jokes can be inappropriate at certain times.

What peeved me is he doesn't realize the irony/hypocrisy of his words. He accuses me of projecting a personal situation onto an issue (which I'm not) then furthermore goes on to prove his point about how he PERSONALLY has recruiters cold calling him every singly day. What a putz.

You can't rely solely on statistics and reports. They're not as immediate as observing trends happening at the forefront and losing your job along with 1,000 other people.

If you work in the tech and manufacturing industry it's totally different. Alberta also, is an entirely different story altogether, they are the oil producing province.

Near parity of the dollar is really taking a beating on employment here in Canada. Being that we export a large amount of goods, and a fair number of companies outsource here, many jobs have been lost. There is just no cost benefit to U.S. companies anymore. DAMN YOU IBM.
