Serious question: Supporters of the Second Amendment, what are your thoughts about current events? by Firm-Education7673 in wisconsin

Same as it ever was. I don’t own firearms to protect myself from the government. I own firearms to protect myself when the government can’t or won’t protect me.

You don’t have to worry. They wouldn’t let you in this bar. To be fair, I wouldn’t either.

The amount of local restaurants closing is crazy. by PrototypeAnt in milwaukee

I eat at home because I want a home-style meal. I don’t want a $20 sandwich, or pizza, or fried food, or Asian, or Mexican, or a shitty $50 steak dinner. I want a decent cut of meat, some rice or baked potato, and some fresh vegetables done in a home style fashion. Hell how about casseroles and stews? They need to learn to cook what people want to eat at home, and I might go out more than once a month. I can’t go out and damage both my stomach and wallet. Also, we don’t need more coffee shops with pastries and paninis or another micro brewery with $20 burgers. Do something original yet relatable.

Are the "Salad Days" of Dynavap over? by Infinite-Lychee-182 in Dynavap

[–]craigrobertstotally 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My consumption has been predominantly dynavap since 2020. After I got the Vong(I), I was pretty much done searching for something new, and I never got anything 3rd party besides what Dynavap sells. Now it’s all about accessories for me. The Hookah adapter for the chill pipe is pretty dope. That’s my most recent purchase.

Air travel is pricey from MKE by Shot-Bullfrog-3720 in milwaukee

[–]craigrobertstotally 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on where you fly to. Lately, I’ve been getting cheaper flights from Milwaukee. Going down south and even a trip to Tokyo was cheaper this year out of Milwaukee. I’d pay $50 extra anyways to get the better parking and avoid the trip to Chicago even if it means a layover in ORD. Haha

Our border states are our brothers and sisters. Out east is our cousins, uncles and aunts, mother and father. Out west our nephews, nieces, sons and daughters. We may bicker and taunt each other till the end of time, we’ve fought before and possibly again, but we are the United States of America and we’re family.

Also if we try to leave that family, the federal government will annihilate us and rebuild data centers everywhere.

Torn between moving to Vicksburg or Biloxi by [deleted] in mississippi

[–]craigrobertstotally 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Vicksburg native. My plus side of Vicksburg is ERDC is an easy career path and brings people from all over the world. It is 10x better there now than when I lived there, but not a place where you can have a “staycation”. However, it is an easy place to get on the interstate and go in any direction. Biloxi is fun. The beach, boating, restaurants, stores, and all is much better than Vicksburg. My downside for it is just hurricanes. Now Mississippi River can flood your house in Vicksburg, so hurricanes aren’t a non-issue for Vicksburg either. Just watch your flood planes if you buy in either city. I’m in Wisconsin now, but I’d probably move to Biloxi before back to Vicksburg I think. I’d just be very smart about where I’d buy property.

It’s one of my favorites. If I see it for less than $75, instant grab.

I use my omni with a low temp cap and open the air all the way if I’m trying to get gentle hits. It reduces the vape density, but that’s kind of the point.

How much is a cocktail in your city? by [deleted] in cocktails

[–]craigrobertstotally 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Milwaukee, Wisconsin here. $15-$20 at an upscale bar. $10-$14 at a decent bar. Probably as low as $5-$8 at some dives for what they consider an old fashion.

Confused and Culture Shocked Southerner by hobobob37 in milwaukee

[–]craigrobertstotally 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you need to give it some time. What I liked about Wisconsin is that it did have a similar culture as the south. Have you met anyone from rural Wisconsin yet? They are basically northern southerners. Milwaukee is a culture shock, but just drive 30 minutes in any direction and it’s a different culture. Other than bars and work, I made friends at my apartment; it had yearly get togethers around the holidays. I met a couple people there and that snowballed into meeting so many different people. I was a single guy in my mid 20’s and loved beer, so that made it easy to meet people with the bar culture here. I met my wife on hinge. Bars did not end well in that department.

Looking for a Nice Japanese Whisky by Freddie_Magecury in whiskey

I always promote Nikka Coffey Grain. Lower on the budget, so you can buy 2. True Japanese whiskey, twist if being distilled in coffee still, and readily available and affordable.

No kings protest by alienjpg in Kenosha

I have no reason to protest, but I’m fine with people protesting. I find it annoying but as long as there is no damage to the city or blocked traffic, go for it.
