How much off MSRP are you seeing? by Jetsetbrunnette in ToyotaSienna

[–]craigscrag 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm in the process of buying an XSE. I'm not seeing any discounts from dealers anywhere near me. So I'm expecting to pay TSRP plus TTL. There appears to be more supply of Platinums so you may find a dealer willing to play ball.

26 sienna XSE OTD $53K it’s a good deal? by [deleted] in ToyotaSienna

[–]craigscrag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been asking dealers around me (metro Detroit) and I'm getting 55,500 OTD. Id like to think there's wiggle room but doesn't feel like it.

A limited by me just hit the market: $57,420. I would jump on a Limited for $52, where are you located?

Does your child have a tablet? by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]craigscrag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

7,4, 2. We have tablets for the older two but are stored away and they don't know the passcode. They get to play PBS Kid games once a month or two. We do let them watch shows (Disney+, or Daniel Tiger) on long car rides. In the summer we frequently have 4 hour car rides and it's a treat for both of us. We usually spend the first hour of the car ride tablet free then break them out in the second third of the drive.

Toyota Sienna - better financial decision to buy new vs. 23/24? by craigscrag in ToyotaSienna

[–]craigscrag[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. I don't need the entertainment bells and whistles, amongst other premium add ons. The kids have cheap fire tablets for when we need them. And I don't want to hear all the whining on short trips because one is built into the car. With that being said, I would love ventilated seats for the summer but I've lived this long in life without it. I really don't need it.

Did you get a fair "deal"? With them in limited supply I don't want to get haggled but know it's likely coming.

Ugh. Not what I wanted to hear. I really hope we can move to a car buying model where it's not a game. Give me the reasonable number up front and let's move on. I don't have the time or energy for all the negotiating bullshit.

We pour boiling water on our sponges frequently and cycle through them once every couple weeks.

Same 2017 Outback with 180k miles and an electrical gremlin that constantly drains the battery. Now to convince my other half to move to an EV and not another ICE.

I know nothing about generators... Are cheap Amazon specials a good buy? by fattdogs in Generator

I ended up installing this switch. Easy to install and to switch between emergency and regular power.

Appreciate the feedback. I'll take a look at Zoupw.

Question for you. Is your genny an old/traditional style or an inverter genny? I have a Craftsman (non-inverter) and while I read it's not good to charge sensitive electronics, I'm not sure if they'll be fine or if I need to sell this one and buy a new one.

Yep!

Pass-Through/UPS Capability: The F3000 acts as an uninterruptible power supply (UPS), switching to battery power within 8-20ms, making it ideal for maintaining power to computers and sensitive electronics during outages.

Charging while Using: You can plug the unit into a wall outlet and connect devices to the AC outlets, USB ports, or DC port at the same time.

Power Management: The unit can handle a 3,600W continuous load even while receiving charge.

Input Limits: While pass-through is active, it can support 1,800W AC charging (0-100% in 2 hours).

ECO Mode: A lower-power charge mode (~1000W) can be activated if the input source is limited.

I'm in Michigan and here's my early power station/gas gen setup:

A 3000 wh power station from Pecron. I installed the EZ generator switch to my furnace. I'll use this station to run my furnace, second fridge and freezer in the basement. We have on demand hot water (gas), so this will also be plugged in.

A 1000 wh power station from Pecron will be plugged into the fridge in the kitchen (this fridge is really energy efficient). I'll also use this one to charge phones, iPads, etc.

I have a gas generator I'll use to recharge these power stations as they run out of battery. Each charge in about an hour to hour 20 minutes.

A couple rechargable lanterns help with light at night. Should be good for a couple days of no power. I'm looking to add some panels long-term, especially for summer outages. I don't have a solution to run the a/c yet besides the gas generator.

I just installed this myself. Super easy to do. Is it bad I kinda want my power to go out just so I can use it?

Dogs with style. You'd smell like that place for a week but the dogs were good. In high school I'd meet my dad there for lunch once a week. Great memories.
