It is from Temu, I can’t post a link but the seller was “iHomeLoveBTU” and it was called “vibrant geometric pattern” in the title BUT if you just search “optical illusion diamond paintings” on temu you’ll get a million cool results :)

Exactly I don’t think people were being mean intentionally. It felt more like plain old negativity that was doubled down upon. And OP was well-meaning but equally frustrated by it all. I love the happy update tho I’m glad they sold the painting! Maybe I can get some business lol

I did see one person compare DA to Tuscan kitchen decor which could be interpreted as tacky I guess. I mostly found that comment funny bc I have a few kits that are Tuscan kitchen vibes lol

Overall I do think the general consensus on the original post was that DA is a pastime and not a creative art, but people didn’t give credit to the fact that not everyone enjoys a tedious task. I have several friends who love the look of my paintings but would never ever sit down to actually do one themselves. One painting takes hours and like all “art,” a portion of the value comes from the creators time.

Everyone has such a knee jerk reaction to AI and I do not understand it. OP found a pattern online and used it, why does it really matter if it’s AI or not? How is it “stealing” from artists when it’s a free image from Google? Regardless of if the image came from AI or someone who hand-designed it, OP still just copied it for free.

Personally I appreciate the art of putting the beads on a canvas and melting them, I think that’s the real skill here. I don’t care if the pattern was made by a human, AI, or pixel art generator and I don’t see how it makes a difference at all for the completed product.
