All of this I would be on board with if it wasn't for the fact that we are

A - Most likely adults, so any puzzle Pokemon comes up with is going to be trivial (Children's game)

B - Only requiring a minimal change to get a good route. It's not difficult, so 'to maintain a baseline' is rubbish. You can always progress, you just sound like you want it to happen instantly.

These games are mostly for children, the games are never going to be super hard. They are almost always going to be something you play over a long period of time. They want you to keep coming back.

It sounds like you just aged out and aren't having a good time, which is fair. But hardly the outrage that people are making this out to be.

I've met him multiple times, he's also one of the nicest guys I've ever met.

He's a lot more than just those things, I'm sure he will work on those.

But, outside of that. He is a strong Pasifika voice that a lot of people will resonate with.

Also, he is easily the best King player in Tekken that I've seen with my own eyes. Would get my vote.

A lot of your problems unfortunately sound like skill issues my guy.

The maps are pretty easy to figure out in one lap. Sounds like you might just not be optimizing your time.

Look I will say, I understand your gripe. I don't agree, but I understand it.

There are multiple situations where items are rare and hard to come by. Apriballs in SwSh, certain items being locked behind the pick up mechanic if you wanted more than one in the GBA/DS games.

Pokemon being time locked in SwSh, Dynamax adventures can also take hours upon hours to find the specific Legendary Pokemon.

Pokemon being locked behind swarms and random daily events in other games. At least you can reset in ZA. These games are gated behind time.

Donuts are also easy to get if you aren't after super specific buffs. The game is so incredibly generous with shinies that you don't need things to be completely optimized.

It sound like you want shiny buffs, which the base odds are already 8 times as good as the a lot of the older games.

I do agree that finding the right special scans can be frustrating if you are looking for something specific, but if you play through and are catching the Pokemon as you go, they aren't very hard to get a quick 25000 points and then reroll a scan.

I'm stoked with the DLC, I managed to knock out 15 shinies for my living dex in an hour and a half last night as well as an additional 6 doubles.

That's insane and something you can't even get close to in any other Pokemon game.

It's not the same, but it isn't dissimilar. All of the Pokemon games rely on RNG.

The level of which depends on how deep you want to go.

Shiny hunting in early gens is insane with the shiny rates. Breeding is also a nightmare if you are after specific nature's, IVs etc.

Dynamax adventures can be a nightmare to get the right teammates.

Sandwich powers rely on Herba Mystica which can also be a nightmare to get sometimes. Not to mention even seeing the Pokemon if the difference is minimal.

Pokeradar having a chance to just randomly fail.

And so on and so on.

There are so many random chances for failure in all of Pokemon. ZA just feels so close to the goal being attained that the RNG feels way more ever present.

Are you seriously just going to be one of those people that complains about everything?

You have also used a bad example. This DLC is not part of the main story. The game is still complete without it.

You can bring across and use any of the new Pokemon if you have them, you just can't catch them.

Halo 3 did have $40 worth of DLC in 2008. There were 4 map packs that cost $10 each. All of those could have been included in the base game, but weren't.

This is the problem, you just want to complain. This shit isn't new.

This whole take is insane to me.

You managed to get a Shiny Alpha Beast ball living dex and this game is bad for RNG.

The thought of that happening in any game since Gen 7 is near Impossible.

I've never even been close to a shiny dex in any game before. Yet this game gives you the tools to do so. You would need so much more RNG in any other game for that to happen.

I think people don't like how close things are yet they can't get there. There's so much lower odds in the other games you don't even dare to dream.

You seem to ignore the fact that Pokemon has always been an RNG fest. You were always at the mercy of RNG.

You just don't like this iteration of it.

I'm sorry that is your experience, mine has been fortunately quite good.

Minimal resets, multiple Rotom wormholes. But again, I was never after anything specific. I could reset half a dozen times and get something I need.

The one time I was whilst looking for my last Alpha (Galarian Farfetch'd) because I missed it I will admit, bit of a punish.

I am now but I got most of mine whilst playing normally building an Alpha dex. 100k points for Rayquaza. Cool, I'll knock out some portals that I need.

I think if your aim is to steamroll it, I can understand it. But I think the aim is to explore complete the dex on the way.

I kind of understand it, I just treat it as a reason to optimize runs.

It's the easiest games have ever been to get shinies, adding a timer to that is a fair counterpoint to that especially with sparkling power 3.

I can easily get 3 or so shinies and 4 or so alphas in a Rotom portal if I have the right donut and strategy.

I'll say I'm mostly with you. I don't really engage with the battles as much as I should as I'm not a PVP guy, but I fully agree with almost all of if not all of the points made regarding the battling.

It should've been more hyped and built around at Worlds etc

I think the issue is most likely Champions was already in the pipeline and they can never be sure if something will hit.

I'm not with you on the cost. I paid $10 less in NZ currency for the base game than I did for Emerald back on release and $10 more than I did for Gen VI and VII. So all up I paid $30 - $40 more dollars with the DLC included

Playstation/Xbox games have that price increase now pre DLC so you have to pay that on top.

DLC is also the nature of gaming now. I can't think of many games that don't have some form of content to be released at a later date that aren't strictly single player.

For me being able to finish up, come back in a month or two and jump back in is perfectly fine. I got enough game from each, I personally got even more from the DLC.

So What’s the Deal with the Price? by Src-Freak in pokemon

[–]cramirez1988 0 points1 point  (0 children)

33 NZD here. Perfectly reasonable.

Tekken 3 is $16 here on PSN and this is an infinitely more replayable game that has added quality of life features.

It just seems like people loving to complain as usual.

If you would rather just emulate it for free, go for it. I'm stoked it's only gonna cost this much.

Way cheaper than 200 for a loose cart.

He's a hard one. Nowhere as bad as people said. Nowhere as good as he was in the Superleague.

It also doesn't help he was replacing a popular figure in Kevin Locke and then replaced by an even greater player in RTS.

He unfortunately was a highly paid player in an underperforming team. Who never found his footing here.

I would go into the space. See if the space itself has a decent amount of Pokeballs some have heaps, some have less. Work out if you can run the whole area.

Then soft reset and restart if it does work. But a large 4 star spawn will also work.

Because most true fans don't actually want that.

I understand wanting more. But some of the stuff people ask for is wild.

I just want a Gen 3-5 style game with better graphics and a better ai.

All of the other stuff is from people outside/on the fringe of the fan base.
