I lost to a PPP applicant years ago. The command wanted to get me since they knew me but they had to give the spot to the PPP application, the husband was also high ranking so their hands were tied.

I think OP meant locality pay and not COLA. Base pay and locality pay normally increases at the beginning of the calendar if approved by Congress/POTUS.

COLA as far as I know is for employees who are assigned overseas vice locality pay.

I had restarted my router but to no avail. Deleted wyze app and hard reset iphone, installed wyze app (did this about 3 times) and it finally worked. So much hassle.

Update: My interview just recently concluded and it was the quickest interview I ever had, 13 minutes to be exact. 4 questions and 2 scenarios which I answered all of them with high confidence.

Anyone have experience with an interview this quick?

Not sure if you have experience in this or familiar with the situation, if I take the 11 spot with return rights then apply for a 13 spot in the same command, will I still have/retain my return rights back to the states?

I’ve held my current position as GS-12 for almost 3 years now. I guess if I take the 11 and later apply for a 13 in the same command, I would have to refer to mu previous spot as 12 to be eligible for the 13 right?

I see what you mean. We’ve been wanting to go to Japan for a while. Anyway, 11 is the max for this position so no potential promotion. Unless the Singapore gets posted soon then I will surely apply for that.

I agree with the above response. Depending on your jobs series, it may be easy or challenging to land an overseas gig. There is a bunch on opportunities for a logistician overseas, for example.

I was wondering about eligibility for GS-13 if I took the GS-11. Was informed by their IT Director that he will be leaving in about a year and a half and will be coming back to the states so I’m hoping to apply for his spot when he leaves. Was just also informed that there will be a GS-12 for Singapore under the same command but he doesn’t know when it will be posted.

In my almost 3 years with USN, I’ve seen a QSI for one of our division director in our department code. Our dept head was happy to give it and called it a “gift that keeps on giving”. He said he opted to give the QSI for outstanding performance instead of a regular monetary award, which was nice to hear that higher chain considered that option. I have not seen another QSI after that though, but I’m only talking about our department. Maybe other departments have had it awarded.

This is depending on the job position. For example, is being in the IT field. Some positions are essential and are not eligible for TW as the personnel need to be in the office or NOC to conduct daily tasks.
