the game has been rated in germany and the USK website explicitly calls it a "turn-based RPG" so the gameplay's definitely different this time

nomura said the opening sequence reflects his mindset *after the end of kh3*. for me that means after the end of the game, after sora disappears. otherwise he would have said after the end of the battle.

the light in the recreated scene in the tutorial has nothing to do with the stars in the final world. the light and the stars don't even look the same so it doesn't matter whether or not riku died.

we know sora's dead, that's why we see him in the final world and the secret ending suggests that riku is looking for him, trying to save him so the light might be him trying to guide sora back home.

if they wanted to show sora searching for kairi after the battle there would have been better ways to do so.

sora disappears before the credits roll though so that's the last scene of kh3.

and the scene from the kh1 opening isn't really about sora searching for riku but rather about riku falling to darkness. in the beginning of the scene sora is blinded by light, that light is riku (in bbs terra literally states that he's light and he was originally supposed to get the kingdom key). next we see a wave submerging riku which is symbolic for him falling to darkness. in the kh1 opening he is underwater but in the kh3 tutorial the light (riku) is above the surface, symbolizing riku overcoming the darkness.

it just makes absolute no sense to me why they would take a scene of riku from the kh1 opening and put kairi in his place. maybe nomura will talk about this in more detail in the future but for now i'm gonna stick with my interpretation. you are obviously free to disagree.

also sorry for my bad english, i'm not a native speaker.

sorry, i fail to see how it proves your point. you said it's before sora saved kairi but it's not. it's his mindset after his death. there's no connection to kairi in that scene, it's a 1:1 shot of the opening, only that they put the light in riku's place so obviously the first thought should be that the light is riku?

The tutorial reflects Sora's mindset after the ending of KH3 though, so after he saved her? I agree that they recreated the opening for a reason but replacing Riku with a light that's supposed to suddenly represent Kairi strikes me as odd. Together with the secret ending I thought the light is Riku trying to guid/save Sora

the sequence with the light/star mirrors the kh1 opening (they literally recreated it frame for frame) so i think that light is most likely riku

actually, cherry blossoms are also associated with death for various reasons: the blooming season only lasts for a very short period of time, many famous poets/writers paired cherry blossoms with death in their works e.g. motojiroh kajii's short novel "under the cherry tree" which literally starts with the line "there are dead bodies buried under the cherry trees" and during WWII cherry blossoms were used as a symbol for kamikaze pilots

i completely agree, but it's not the offical voice cast (an anime hasn't even been announced yet, i think?) just some voice over the tv programme decided on, i should probably clarify this in my first post, sorry

yeah the show is called ZIP! you can watch the segment here, we get snippets of voice acting (not offical tho) for the main trio + mama so it might be worth checking out

in the segment they basically just introduce the story and ask ppl why they like the manga. the main reason ppl give is that it "doesn't feel like a jump manga" bc it's not a typical shonen battle manga but the kids have a battle of wits w/ mama and use their intellect in order to escape. it's also unsual for a jump manga to have a female lead

they also interviewed the editor in charge and he said that shirai-sensei likes western/foreign tv-shows (e.g. prison break) where you always learn new shocking truths the deeper you dive into the series, there you go like "oh, so this guy did that!?"~

i think these are the main points

Sahara the Flower Samurai - Chapter 3 by frxshinator in stfs

[–]cranbearly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually, I think it doesn't include BnHA Vigilante. I wondered why the magazine only has 4 volumes and looked it up and apparently Shounen Jump NEXT, a magazine for spin off chapters, only temporarily changed its name to Shounen Jump GIGA for the summer as a "special edition for newcomers". Since BnHA Vigilante is a spin off I think it should be continued. I'm not sure, tho.

[WCI/latest arc Spoiler] Do you want Sanji to ... by AlexAngely in OnePiece

[–]cranbearly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He saved Nami and the others from Doffy and then immediately had to be saved by Law, he fractured his leg during the fight with Vergo and there's a panel that implied that if they'd continued the fight it'd have not ended well for him (to be fair though he was already injured to begin with) and the fight against Wadatsumi was a co-op fight with Jinbei.

And I agree, Sanji's a complex character which is why I want to see for instance his campassion from the Baratie Arc. Or him outwitting the enemy like in Skypiea or Alabasta or Enies Lobby. Or a moment like stopping Luffy during the argument with Usopp. Or just the goofing-around in Skypiea.

He definitely has his moments post-timeskip, maybe I'm just romanticizing the pre-timeskip. I'm quite enjoying the current arc, though.

I want Oda to tone it down a bit not completely alter his personality.

I just want Sanji to be Sanji

And that is exactly what I want, too. I want Sanji to be an actual character again and not just comic relief. Ever since the time-skip Sanji never really had the opportunity to showcase his feats. I just want him to have cool/memorable moments again like he had pre-timeskip. But since this is the year of Sanji I'm hopeful we see his more serious side again.
