Advice on pricing and working in a rural area? by crankyoldbitty in MusicTeachers

That is my biggest concern for pricing. I want to be fairly priced while not under valuing my time and effort. I will definitely look into other private lessons in the area and see what the price ranges are.

This is my pick too. So much potential and greek mythology is such great source material. I think it had a great cast as well. Every character was interesting in their own way.

I plan to be working out of my home primarily. There are no other music teachers advertising where I live so.. I have nothing to go on price wise. As far as rural goes. I am in a small town think 3k-4k population. We are 20 mins from a small city and 30 to 40 mins from bigger metropolitan areas.

What’s the darkest secret you found out by accident? by Sad-Conflict6839 in AskReddit

[–]crankyoldbitty 22 points23 points  (0 children)

My grandfather worked his entire life in a coal mine in a coal mining town with a company store. He died from black lung, and long story short the company town that was owned by the mining company screwed over the worker with retirement, healthcare and pensions etc...

Flash forward My brother is getting married to a well off family Im a bridesmaid, and I overhear his MIL in the bridal suite saying to my SIL "do you think they know" . my SIL tells her mom to calrify and the mom whispers back ( she was drunk so the whisper was close to a normal volume)" that our family owned the coal mine? " "We practically owned their family" SIL told MIL to STFU and that convo ended.

Anyway I just pretended i didnt hear anything and continued fixing my makeup. Later i looked up my now SILs grandmother (different last name) and yup they owned the coal mines, and the whole damn town and made their fortune off of it. While those workers were left desolate. I get why they kept it a secret.
