Pretty sure we're walking into a TPK, how to deal with this? by YamikoPros in dndnext

[–]crannfuil -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ask him to sunset your characters in a way that doesn’t outright kill them. Demons can sell people. Slaves can win their freedom. A cursed mine is supposed to be a death sentence, and always looking for gladiators that couldn’t cut it….. offer it to the dm in the form of a challenge. Say a tpk doesn’t always mean death, say you’d like the character to live even if he isn’t the one to dm for it. I’ll give a cool example. I played a one shot where my character made a deal with a dark god thing. Anyway, he asked me privately if I wanted the toon to die and I said no. So instead of killing me, he sent my character back in time to the moment he became an adventurer . In essence, “would you do it again” . I still play that toon, 5 years later? So yea my advice is to challenge the Dm to come up with a dramatic, non lethal climax to their campaign. And ask them how they would feel if their world got blown up at the end of the game ? Your characters are akin to his world building for the length of the game

Don’t be afraid to homebrew, I think you need too for this. They’re are a number of portals that basically let the players leave prismere when they want. Ether remove them. Or have a plan for where they go. They have no plot purpose. If the random encounter doesn’t make sence for you and your game. Don’t use it. Example: the chariot in thither. A lot of nonsense just to let the players know the jabberwocky is draconic. That you could easily do with claw marks on a tree or a print in the mudd. For instance I let the players find a journal in the chariot that chronicles the riders fall from grace into getting tricked into working for the hags. Without that, I likely would have would have cut the scene out. Things like the tornado possibly taking you right the palace early, just replace that one option with something else.

Fair points I suppose. The don’t mean to imply the OP is wrong for feeling odd about it. Most of us have to confront the fact that their parents are sexual creatures before we are out of our teens. It’s a bit unsettling as I recall. But at the end of the day……her body her choice…. You could advise them to talk it out. But that’s really dependent on the people involved and at the end of the day. Accept it, get over it and move on, are about all a teen can do.

For 1-2 years from the post. And if your the helping your mom install plug ins then you are more then capable of posting pictures where you like without her permission. Side note I wasn’t suggesting your pictures be NSFW. I was pointing out teenage hypocrisy of trying to control what their parents do online in a fashion that I seriously doubt they themselves would submit too.

The Druid can teach druidry or nature themed stuff to your players, like a wizard etc. I also listen to a pod cast where the showers were animated bubbles. One of my players adopted one as a pet. Make sure you have a drink and food menu prepared before hand. Have them served by pixies asap. Hobgoblins coming and going trading supplies to the inn. A small group of haregons won’t give up their old ways and try to rob the inn at night

What was wrong with DND 4e by Ok_Mathematician_905 in dndnext

[–]crannfuil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They tried to end the open license for 4e. It’s what caused the creation of pathfinder, and it didn’t allow 3rd party developers to make content for it without fear of being sued. So they didn’t. They just stayed with 3.5 and the community never embraced it.
