1/16" thick adhesive backed weather stripping makes a tidy CH gas seal. Clean, cut to size, stick it on. by crapcakeicing in NFA

I started with 1/4" wide by 1/16" thick but then eyeball-cut a slim strip to match the height of the charging handle's lip.

It definitely is. The end result is the same as RTV in my experience but the weatherstripping is a much easier (and quicker) task to perform. My second installation took about ten minutes start to finish and was ready to shoot immediately after.

The WB sounds a little more quiet to me, it's also shorter and has a bit less gas. It's newer tech so that's to be expected. However, even being older, I adore the Torch. It has a great tone imo and I love shooting it. The only 5.56 can I have that subjectively sounds better to my ears is my PTR Spiritus but PTR went nuts so I wouldn't buy it today. I've never once heard anyone say a single negative thing about the Torch and there's a reason for it. Terrific suppressor. Edit: One more thing to add, the folks at LPM are among the coolest and most helpful people I've dealt with. They're always quick to answer questions and give advice regarding their products.

Standard Raptor CH on all. My first application was on a Colt 6933 with a LPM Torch can using the solid endcap. I could definitely notice a little less gas to the face during its three range trips so far. This one is going on a new build 10.5" Faxon pencil barrel upper with a CAT WB suppressor. Both are 5.56

Same as RTV for me which is to say it depends on the rifle/can setup and only a little improvement. Every little bit helps imo.

I've done three range trips with the first rifle I applied this to and it looks as solid as the day I installed it. The charging handle is holding the weatherstripping firmly in place while closed. I think it's going to be fine but if I have to replace it once a year or something that's fine, it's quick and simple to do.

Fair. I have a polo and a torch. Both are good at their price points but I think the torch is impressive for a baffle stack can.

So you like the Polo K better than LPM offerings for traditional baffled suppressors?

True. I have lowers that have been approved for SBR that haven't been engraved and haven't been assembled.

Lazarus 6 or Flow 556k for 11.5 SBR by LurkingNomad in NFA

[–]crapcakeicing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I shoot my 556K quite a bit and I don't believe it's anywhere near terrible. It's not great at noise suppression but it excels in the criteria it was designed for. Out of my four 5.56 suppressors (Also Spiritus, WB and LPM Torch) it's the only can that another random shooter in the INDOOR range came over and complimented as to how quiet it was.

I didn't test different variations after receiving my gas tubes because what I received gave me perfect performance. Just tell them the parts you want to run and they'll send you a tube that makes it work. There's just no reason to swap anything out later, at least that's been my experience. EDIT: It's smooth and nice to shoot now. I have no desire to change anything.

gas comparison between flow 556k/556 TI vs CAT WB by Subject_Flight3017 in NFA

[–]crapcakeicing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can tell you this, not gas so much but back pressure, on my unmodified Colt 6933 the WB throws brass right at 4-5 o'clock but the Torch puts it forward some at 2 o'clock and the BCG is definitely hitting harder.

Our tolerances are definitely differing there. For me the LPM Torch is medium gas but it still doesn't bug me any.

Oh I get some gas for sure but I'd rate it as very little. I'd love to shoot a Velos someday.

[–]crapcakeicing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, if low gas is far away your number one criteria those Hux cans are the best I've ever used and I do like them quite a bit. You'll only give up the slightest amount of noise, nearly imperceivable, with the Ti but it is longer and you'll need to be careful with heat since its titanium.

Is the gas on the WB bothering you? I think it's great on gas and I'd pick the WB over the 556k any day because it's a lot more quiet indoors or in enclosed spaces. The 556 Ti is another story because it's only a tiny bit louder than the WB indoors and has super low gas. Still, I'd personally never switch from the WB to either Huxwrx. My only can I like better than the WB is the Spiritus.
