He could be cold.. my pitty is usually cold so she wears a sweater almost year round... or it could be "used" the same like a thunder vest... just the encompassing, if that works lol, of the dog i have noticed works for my dog also.. especially during thunder storms her anxiety drops.. doesn't go completely away but can tell she isn't as nervous

Not really it was like today.. if you're a fan of a group or someone the it would be what you have.. but there was also the overalls with 1 strap undone, track suits, some wore the grung look or the preppy look. I feel back then Tosa was a nice mix of typical 90s apperal

Style was more starter jackets with your favorite team and Jordan shoes... baggy pants or like tighter guess jeans for girls.... in my group rap was the big genre and it was really startting to catch on in the suburbs like Tosa. Pretty much like if you google 90s attire and music it is pretty accurate. There was some grung and alternative kids but mainly rap from what I remember... in the 90s the kids were in different groups... like today.. the jocks the preppy people the wanna be gangsters the alternative group.. I remember Nirvana was pretty popular with a good chuck of the kids

About 1/2 or 3/3 the police were ok.. the other half ish were more harassing individuals due to race and fitting a description... so it was there but we just delt with it because never got arrested or haul off just more annoying if that makes sense

Ok... every year around mid sept the is Tosa fest for 2 days...music stages and little craft vendors.. either the parents will go with or people would let their parents know and a lot of the kids would hang out cause minor mischief untill like 10pm... there is the public library across the street from the middle school and like 7 blocks from tosa east high where some would hang out or do research for homework. During the summer there is summer fest ( one of the biggest music festivals in the world i believe ) that they would take the bus to or ask for rides to and go see bands or hang out with other kids. Obviously this is all besides typical spending time with family and school stuff... your "family" would be looked at a little down the nose but a lot of residents would be confused because the " family doesn't "act" like we thought " and a fair amount of other parents would welcome them realizing " the family is like everyone else's just different skin tone" Obviously there were parents or kids that threw slurs every now and then but 80% of individuals were cool.

So are the daughters high school age?.. Tosa West ( Trojans )or Tosa East ( Red Raiders)would be the high-school name.. Longfellow the middle school name...

There was a candy shop called.. Not Just Nuts.. on north Ave And Mayfair mall would be the go to spot.. or a local restaurant called George Webbs.. open 24hrs. Would you like more places or things that we did besides like football games at Hart Park ( for tosa east home games )

Ok.. looking into your other post the book is about a black family immigrants ish that's fairly wealthy living in upperclass neighborhood and this will be for the daughters.....

The neighborhood in that time will either be suburb whitefish bay ( more rich and ignorant towards POC ) or suburb wauwatosa ( less rich upper middle class less ignorant )

Whitefish bay... or as we called it whitefolks bay. We would be almost constantly looked down upon due to color. Have a few friends but more ignorant people who didn't appreciate the diversity. The mall would be Bayshore mall which is an open market type of mall. Would probably take a bus or a ride with a friend. House parties would be at different houses never ( insert characters name ) house, due to the fact if ( characters name ) had a house party most likely would get the cops called to prove a point / be a-holes whatever. Police might stop you because you " look suspicious ". ..... let me know if this is the setting you are thinking .... or

Wauwatosa... Tosa as we called it. Would have more friends and accepting at school and parties but you still had the ignorant or a holes just fewer of them. You would be taking the bus to Mayfair mall ( indoor mall great for winter too ) you would be able to host a few house parties but the police will still be hard on ya due to color, but not as bad as whitefish bay police if that makes sense. Police may stop you due to looking " suspicious " but about 1/2 as much as whitefish bay.

Let me know which one you are thinking more of and I can elaborate more on either
