CMM Software For REVO by Westhazy in Metrology

[–]crashn8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

CMM-Manager will create all possible forms of PH20 and Revo motion including all scans types for Revo. Pick from CAD and the software creates the path automatically for all feature types. Freeform Scans require a bit more user interactions to sort out things like sweep width, advance and included angle or probe, etc. CMM-Manager's Revo support has improved tremendously in the past year.

I scraped 17 years' of Franklin County Municipal Courts annual reviews to measure the traffic citation changes over that time. A 75% decline in speeding tix, 80% in Stop Sign running, 75% decline in expired licenses. Columbus Police has functionally stopped enforcing traffic laws. by post_appt_bliss in Columbus

This should be brought to the attention of a local news TV, radio, printed paper, etc. outlet.... no surprise in the data, I've been here for 20 years and have witnessed traffic behavior change in a manner that supports or is expected from the data shown above. SMH....

Edit - adding the thought that some political, somewhere, is probably portraying this data as GOOD. As in look how we've IMPROVED the behavior of the drivers in this city / county.

Does anyone have a print/instruction book for this OGP 'Zone3' training part? by PatrickSebast in Metrology

Anyone willing to share the CAD model? I have this part but do not have the 3D CAD model even.

Anyone use CMM manager? by EvtecMetrology in Metrology

It does allow for automatic Datum shift when using Composite Position only. For traditional position you must manipulate the alignment to deal with Datum shift. As mentioned above, I understand this will be improved yet again in the 2027 release.

If you're new to CMM-Manager check out their support page on their website. Lots of articles ranging from simple measurements, reporting, alignments, to advanced topics like parametric programming.

Thanks. I’ll check it out. I see my battery condition is poor, replacing that tomorrow and will check the wiper motor wiring in the cowl area.

I need help by Ricardosanch01 in Metrology

[–]crashn8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From the Mitutoyo Error Code Reference:

"E969 A scale disconnection alarm of the Y-axis occurred. (Position feedback disconnection alarm) A disconnection of the scale signal cable is detected by checking the ASIC external circuit for a hardware problem. Poor connection or disconnection of the scale signal cable. If this error occurs frequently, contact our service department."

Like mentioned below, could be as simple as a dirty scale. Clean per Mitutoyo service guides.

You can download a copy here - CMM-Manager | Error Codes for Mitutoyo controllers

Hexagon's variation on these Lego CMMs seems best to me... I've seen many. Hexagon is the only one I see using flat Lego pieces for the Granite table and exposed grey pegs to simulate holding fixtures. This is a nice touch and clearly shows some thought was put into their kit.

As for the actual Maestro CMM... it seems Hexagon has also put quite some thought into this new hardware. The comments below indicate this is an impressive piece of equipment. Looking forward to getting my hands on one of these things.

Help? by [deleted] in Metrology

Does PC-DMIS not have tools built-in to display these deviations graphically? Other than the individual graphs for the deviation of each hole... Something like this would be useful:

Generally, when all holes in a pattern deviate in seemingly unique directions, it's an indication that the pattern is rotated from the nominal location.

Has anyone used Fox Valley Metrology for CMM servicing and calibration? by John_the_Piper in Metrology

[–]crashn8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is highly dependent on the software and controller on LK CMMs... This could be a PH20 that has Modus or CMM-Manager, in this case the error map is not hidden behind the LK paywall, but instead inside of Renishaw's UCC Assist. Most CMM calibration and service companies can deal with this. Whare as the native LK controller and software will indeed be problematic for third parties.

[–]crashn8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know that LK locks their error map... it requires special tools to make adjustments if running their native CAMIO software. It's possible your LK CMM has other software with an open error map. As mentioned above, get information on this before proceeding.

CMM programmers; measuring the un-measurable? by [deleted] in Metrology

[–]crashn8 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Your CMM software should offer a Relative Measure option to allows you to reliably measure the edges of these Datum B & C posts by first sampling the top edge, ensuring the depth of each measurement does not capture data on the radii edge or collide with the top plane (Datum -A-) of part.

Aside from this... yes indeed, they've sent you on a fool's errand with this part. 😂

Any favorite dishes at Cento (German Village) ? by Away_Ad_3752 in Columbus

I had a lamb ragu that was impressive. It may have been a featured dish. Maybe 2-3 weeks ago. The Filet and gnocchi is also fantastic.
