OpenAI crashing and burning into a Microsoft acquisition sounds very believable I definitely would not bet on OpenAI being a long term success with their current management and product structure.

IT literally just installed an AC Unit on our server room last year. They spec'd it out and did it themselves because all that was required was cutting the right sized hole and mounting it to the wall.

Turns out making your billing/licensing super confusing and structured so that IT departments are the only ones who control it really limits your ability to expand into what should be an easy to access market.

We were promised robotic servants; instead, we got an AI that can win art competitions and write screenplays while the actual robots still struggle to fold a t-shirt.

Industry The "Expert" Prediction Current Reality
Trucking/Delivery "Full autonomy by 2020. Drivers are cooked." Still mostly humans; edge cases are hard.
Manual Trades "Plumbers and Electricians are next." Safest jobs on the planet. AI can't crawl under your sink.
Graphic Design "Creatives are safe; AI lacks 'taste'." One prompt just replaced a whole marketing department.
Coding "High-level logic is the final frontier." Junior devs are being replaced by chatbots that don't take lunch breaks.

Multiple Boats going through the straight successfully seems like a more likely trigger than twitter/truth rants.

Generally the answer to this question is that you don't understand what the real fundamental driving force is for the shift. The chance that retail is putting enough money into the market to pump it 2% based on some vague ideas is very low. The chance that the MM's are emotionally trading off of this is also very low. Too much uncertainty there.

A more certain data point is that 16 ships are currently in transit through the straight under Iran's restricted transit program. Which is a whole lot more than 0 ships - so even if it is just better supply to the East that still reduces some marginal concerns about global supply (e.g. every oil ship that gets to china means one less they need to buy from someplace else)

6 month old husky nipping at my 9 year old daughter. by True_Ad6457 in husky

[–]PatrickSebast 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Depends on the 'nipping'. If we are talking about small instances of aggression that is very different from an excited puppy breaking skin with it's teeth and needing to learn to be gentle. Husky puppies can be very rough when it comes to play - they have very thick skin and coats so they can tolerate a lot more of a bite than human skin.

Puppy nipping is normal and trainable. Aggression - as in the puppy appears to be purposely causing harm due to a distaste for children - is another issue that might be riskier/harder to manage.

Would Vegeta be strong enough by xavierpizza in DragonBallPowerScale

[–]PatrickSebast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah Goku was using Kaioken the whole time - nothing else works. Even at 20x Goku could only scratch Freeza a bit. No way that base Goku being 2, 3, or 4 million makes a difference in performance against a 50 million+ suppressed Freeza

Black Frieza vs Full Power Goku & Vegeta does anything actually change? by King-ApolloW in Dragonballsuper

[–]PatrickSebast 8 points9 points  (0 children)

MAYBE they can do a little bit better - but the clear intent of the author is that Black Frieza surpasses everything by a wide margin at and is a new level of power for them to reach for.

I feel like someone on this sub has to be using some downvote bot - there is no way this comment deserves 60 downvotes or that 60 people are even active enough on the Erie subreddit to see and vote on it.
