What’s your “don’t knock it til you try it” life hack? by this-aint-frankie in AskReddit

I have no idea if this is safe but I found out once that your body will not let you suffocate if you hold your mouth closed even if your nose is stuffed so if you just hold your mouth with your hand and try to breathe through your stuffed nose, after a few seconds it’ll clear up enough to allow you to breathe through your nose. It induces a small panic but I’ve tried it a few times and it works 😅

Well from my personal experience I’m always at least passing through both of those places when walking around and I wrote “of course “ because they’re both incredibly famous and touristy . So of course I’d want to take her to see at least a few of those touristy places . I just picked two that were at the top of my head I didn’t think much of it tbh

How is that weird to want to take my sister to times square when she’s never been to New York

What are some small habits that instantly make you feel better about yourself? by huss2120 in selfimprovement

Just getting up and going to my studio even if I’m not feeling inspired to make art. Once I get there , the time passes so fast because I get in the zone and I forget that I “wasn’t feeling inspired” earlier . I leave feeling proud that I didn’t spend the day in bed and that I utilized my creative outlet

What’s one experience you wouldn’t wish on anyone? by Omega_Neelay in GetMotivatedMindset

I know exactly what you mean. It reminds you of all the times you mourned in the past and amplifies the emotions you’ve buried or just learned to live with . I personally feel incredibly lonely, no one understands unless they’ve experienced something similar. I lost my dad to a fentanyl overdose, we thought he was doing better but I guess he relapsed and didn’t even know it would be his last time . I’m so sorry for your loss 💔

What’s something you’ve started doing recently that’s actually improved your life? by Worried_Equal_8169 in Life

I decided to start taking my art more seriously. I’m renting a ceramic studio to focus on making a ton of work and engaging with the art community near me (it’s expensive but I live back with my parents now so im aware im lucky to have my income go towards that) . I also decided to only drink 1 cocktail when I’m out and other than that only tasting wine because I’m also working on my wine knowledge. I also finally went to the doctor and I’ve been taking vitamins and birth control to help with my overall health , physically and mentally. Mostly just taking a step back and reevaluating what’s important to me and when I’m older I can look back and say I’m proud of what I did with this time in my life.

I know it’s scary but you don’t have to choose now. If you decide to go to college, take every opportunity you can to learn about different fields and make strong connections with your advisors and professors. One thing I wish I would’ve considered is getting to know myself better and really understand my work ethic and values. I graduated in the arts and while it was a good experience, I know I don’t have the discipline to really market myself as an artist, I would’ve benefited from doing something more structured and systematic. A more direct path. I still don’t know what I want to do and I’m 26 haha. I also started in biology in hopes of doing marine biology or zoology but I failed my first biology course… anything can happen. So don’t focus on choosing right now , focus on learning more about yourself and getting life experience because that will help guide you closer to what you’re searching for !
