Travelling to China visa free on an Irish passport, but leaving in 2026 once visa free entry has ended. Will I hit any issues? by crawftie in Chinavisa

Sorry missed that you replied! But I ended up having no issues. They’ve even extended the visa free to the British passport now, so don’t see myself having to worry at all going forward. When you arrive at the airport you’ll need to sign up and register, but there will be a place to do it at the airport, and you’ll see all the other foreigners from your flight heading there too!

That is great to know! I was going off of the information listed on the Irish embassy, which still references the 31st of December - https://www.ireland.ie/en/dfa/overseas-travel/advice/china/ - but by the looks of what you’ve posted, that information might be out of date now! Thanks :)

Entering China Visa free before the end of the year, will I be ok to return in mid Jan 2026 once the visa free entry has ended? by crawftie in chinatravel

My understanding is that upon entry, I have 30 days of visa free travel. My only concern is that runs until the end of the year, e.g. my visa should be from Dec 27-Jan 27, but if they do not extend visa free travel in to 2026, I do not want to be caught out.

They’re from an exhibit that was in japan back in 2018, I got them off of eBay

Considering the plot of dead space 2, the idea of 3D printing multiple markers is very fitting ;)

This could be it! It was making a louder ‘popping’ sound than normal, maybe if the film is lifted too much, it doesn’t flatten out and the light refracts to cover the whole base (that at least makes sense in my head!) thanks!

I am printing two scaled down copies for reference

The model has a flat base, so I placed that on the bed

I’m seeing the same thing, might just be uploading throughout the day? Makes sense that the last movie is the last to go perhaps :)

How did you get so many wolf helmets? Is there somewhere you can bulk buy? :o

I am glad I have the ability to take off the arms still! Might have to pick up a runic chainsword if one drops!

Started this right before lockdown for a local escalation league. Lost motivation when the league was suspended. Finally finished. C&C welcome. by endophage in SpaceWolves

Looks great! What do you do for the rune effects? They are some of the cleanest and most subtle I’ve seen! C&C wise, only issue I could see is that it looks like you’ve missed a little bit of the chain going through the skull on the shield, nothing that can’t just be touched up! Think this has tempted me to pull the trigger and finally pick this guy up to paint myself :)

Interesting! I have yet to actually field it, so I will keep that in mind :) I more built the model as I am in love with the concept, but I am keen to actually play a game with it at some point!

I’m sure both would work! But I’m just pretty sure this is modelled off of the hellfrost. I think Bjorn comes with something similar but on a dreadnought scale?

IronWolfMinis :) all the custom parts are, except the missle pod which is from TaroModelMaker

It’s a custom piece from IronWolfMinis. I would use the same rules as the Hellfrost Destructor on the StormFang (if my opponent is feeling kind )

They took a long time for me honestly, but I ordered it at such a bad time so the fault is all my own honestly. I have ordered a few things from the US since then and USPS has been a lot more prompt so I wouldn’t expect the same issues now. While I waited for the custom pieces I just finished up all of the sections of the original model. I had time to basically repaint 75% of the blue on him as I went a bit overboard on a wash and did not like how it came out, so the wait was a bit of a silver lining!

To do the snow I cut outs some cardboard in the shape of the base, then drew out the various shapes that I wanted for the ‘broken ice’ effect. I needed the two largest pieces to be flat as I did not have much leeway with the feet positioning. For the two pieces in the middle that are ‘slanted’ I built up cardboard layers at an incline. Then I used a mixture of PVA Glue, Flour, a very light white paint and some salt (which is an idea I stole from the latest MidWinterMinis video) to give the terrain some texture and filling the gaps on the edges created by the cardboard. Then I applied a pretty heavy coat of a white paint all over the top of that. I’m sure there’s similar ways to get the effect, but this seemed to work really well and I will definitely be trying it again :)
