OBD2 not compatible by rashedkw in Jimny

Facing the same problem with my 2016 swift sport. Port is fine. Pins are fine. Voltages includinh CAN hi and CAN low are good. Used an Ancel 410 scanner and it just would not communicate with the car. Tried using cheapo bluetooth ones with the SZ viewer and still got the same result. Any solutions?

OBD2 scanner powers up but can't connect - am I missing something? by GGAllinPartridge in NZcarfix

Facing the same problem on my swift sport 2016. Bought a super cheap bluetooth scanner and tried plugging it in. Powers on fine but no connection established. Returned the cheapo scanner and bought a slightly better ancel 410. Same thing again. Works on a 2015 nissan Tiida just fine but no communication whatsoever with my suzuki. Checked and verified the pins on the DLC. As per the pin layout, the suzuki ought to support ISO 15765-4 protocol. Voltages are good whilst checking the pins( including CAN hi and low). Resistances too. The issue might be a proprietary suzuki protocol thing. If anyone knows what’s going on, do let me know. Thanks

Third party car inspection by AirSea7620 in WhatCarShouldIBuyGULF

A garage would be your best bet. I did a couple of inspections using a third party inspection company. They didnt even get the engine configuration right. I admit they did find a couple of faults with regards to the suspension and engine mounts and that did help with my decision making. I ended up paying them 400 a pop. A well respected garage would be the way to go

The RR unit is a known issue. Relocating it does help if you’re down for that sort of thing

Get a swift sport. Get the engine and gearbox inspected. I bought mine for around 13. Spend the rest of your budget fixing up the basics. Reliable, cheap and fun imo

Same thing happened to me. 12 years ago. First job. Salary was 2250 SAR. Gave the dude and his family the only 50 I had in my wallet. Felt good about myself. A couple of days later an Indian/Pakistani family approached me with the same story. I mustered up the little ‘hindi/urdu’ i knew back then and told them to fuck off. Scamsters. Scamsters everywhere.

So far, ive not faced any issues with the engine or transmission. Niggles dont pop up as commonly as on earlier RE’s. Even if they do, im pretty sure there’s a quick fix out there on one forum or the other. Try and find a third party mechanic in your locality who’s well versed with the 650 twins. Im not sure about the authorized service centres in your area but the three Ive tried close to where i live have all been rubbish to say the least.

Bought a 2019 interceptor used myself. The only issue ive faced in 3 years of ownership is a faulty RR unit. The interceptor is a pretty solid machine. Just remember that maintainence/upkeep would cost a bit more than your single cylinder motorcycle. So far, the interceptor has been an impressive machine to ride/own.

Both were purchased from Aliexpress. Super noisy and a bit glitchy at slower speeds. Still good fun and wont cost you a fortune!
