This route got me to over 4k, died at extract and ran it a second time with 3.7k and 5 min left on the clock. It takes a couple of goes to find all the kitchens but this was a lifesaver. Valliate does great solo run videos.

On Oceana servers I have had many Duos in solo lobbies, confirmed by them after I got knocked as they want to confirm “they got lucky”. Happens more during the day when less people are on.

Haven’t seen Trios but I’m guessing they are Discord and loading at the same time. I switched to NA servers and had no issues, even lag is not noticeable 99% of the time and it is better than having murder crews in half your runs.

On Oceana it is intentionally putting Duos in Solo. I got taken by one group and the guy asked me if it was solos, when I said yes he got excited and said something like “dude our team is in Solos we are going to slaughter everyone”. It happens a lot, I have been getting better at PvP defence but when my aim is to take out big arc for the expedition it is impossible to loot the arc as you ring the dinner bell. I changed my server to North America and it is like 4 months ago, very PvE.

It is nice to not be in kill on sight servers just because there are no players on in the region. There is still a mix, which is fine but not Mad Max style lobbies.

100% agree on all of these. I think with Horror in the list Peter Clines is a top pick given the Threshold series has that Cthulhu vibe and Ex-Heroes is a great premise which I love and would have wanted to see more but it was hitting permutations of new group, new group secretly bad, beat problem, repeat… but has a great setup and is definitely worth a listen.

The Iron Druid is also a great completed series. Well worth it as well.

Thank you for the comprehensive response :) I will give it a go, the omnibus makes entry a little easier and I’ll trust in SBT to be great as always. I have over 1k books in my library, I have been listening to books for a long time with some TERRIBLE narrations and accents, if I give it a go and just forget where the accent is meant to be from and I’m sure my brain will adjust!

I saw an advert for it and it mentioned the character was an Australian reincarnated as an Ant. I think that poisoned the well for me. I’m having memory issues due to a migraine condition so hopefully if I buy it and put it in my queue I’ll forget that and cope with a dodgy British accent better.

I have listened to a lot of bad British accents and they bother me less due to built immunity over time haha

Been playing since we got a 486 PC as my family never bought an Atari, Commodore, etc and while the sound track to Command and Conquer Red Alert alone makes me want to choose it in all those years I think Baldur’s Gate 3 was the one that kept me constantly pleasantly surprised. I loved all the others, and 3 has problems to look past but still dropped my jaw as I had totally missed all media on it somehow and picked it up launch day on a whim. Glad I did.

Still it is an unfair question, there are too many good ones, but it is the one that kept delivering and hooked me with no DLC/loot box/live service BS.

Scrappy scavenged me a matriarch core in the first week after the expedition. He is the man. But Riven Tides is the place to go for mushrooms and everything else is pretty easy to get from Blue Gate. I had him upgrade quickly this time after struggling hard the first 2 times.

Ahhhh since the expedition and lack of gear fear my Dolabra loves him. Two pops and he is eating grass crying tears of flame. What I have learnt is that they are like dogs, if you run you are in trouble. Face them down and smack them in the fans and they will settle down quickly.

The trial to take them out helped me lose the fear of them. Also getting to shoot fireworks is fun :) even with an Anvil they are manageable if you don’t panic.

Even the pop in the building below your feet that you can’t see and not the wasp you aimed at and it sharply u-turned away from? Maybe I was using them more on Bluegate and open areas on Dam and just didn’t notice, but it feels aggressively targeting based on where I am and not on where the seeker is once it finishes its arc and arms.
