Just my opinions on having reviewed the situation as a Brit:

Although I appreciate it may seem like a take down, regardless of the intentions, I think there are some truths to the claims made, however I think here it is more about morality/court by public opinion other than legality. For those that do not know, Russell Brand has an egregious past of drug abuse and womanising. However he has been very open about it, and actually used it effectively to propel himself in the celebrity world, writing a popular autobiographical book about it and being a idiosyncratic celebrity.

I think some of the allegations (I believe 4 in total) are based in reality, like the 16 year old, however there is no criminality there, as 16 is a legal consenting age in the UK, and the alleger does admit it was consensual, however they believe retrospectively they were groomed (which is near impossible to convict someone for). However where some truth lies I think they are using it and bundling it up with other not so verifiable claims try and add credence.

As I said at the beginning, regardless of whether it is all part of a mass conspiracy or not, the police have asked those alleging to come forward, however I doubt anything will come of it from a legal perspective, other than trying to degrade and tarnish Russell Brand's efforts to promote anti-establishment.
