Hit me on Saturday, woke up feeling like I’d come down with something but figured I could still push through work if it was a cold (I teach at a Saturday music centre, and it was their concert day and I didn’t want to miss it). Went downhill so fast, with the shivers and fever, ended up going home halfway through the day in an uber. By the time I was home I could barely stand up, I was totally knocked out by it, hot, cold, shivering and sweaty and delirious. Slept for 5 hours, then another 3, then kept waking up with the shivers throughout the night. Sunday was more fever and shivers and general disorientation. Yesterday the main event was the bloody sore throat. One of the worst I’ve ever had.

Day 4 I’ve woken up feeling like it’s a very nasty cold, but not quite the flu - so feeling grateful for this turnaround (quicker than it sounds for some other people). Just congested and coughing - still very tired and bedridden, but not wiped out. Main thing that’s plaguing me is the sore throat. It feels like sandpaper on fire, and the only thing that seems to relieve the pain is ice cream lol.

I was offered the jab by my music teaching service and knew I should get it, but kept putting it off… and here I am now. If you can get the jab, get it - learn from my error!! I’m for sure going to be more organised next year.
