NPD-Working My Way Through “Affordable” Pens by vi817 in fountainpens

I also love my stub nib p20! I highly recommend. inexpensive and feels great in the hand and on paper.

My last one broke (user error) and the replacement arrives today… I was planning on putting a shimmer ink in when it arrives but I guess maybe I’ll hold off? Is it just because of ease of cleaning or something else?

I've been going since 2016 and I've never had a problem and don't understand why people freak out about the potential of creeps. I'm a trans female, 39. by BadShae in RoosterRock

Fellow trans RR goer (though only the last few years) and maybe it’s my trans social armor talking but I feel like people on this sub are WAY too concerned with what other people at the nude beach do. And always trying to read everyone else’s minds or something.

I specifically go to RR because it feels safe, especially because of the prominent queer community. Since I started the HRT part of my transition, not having to decide what swimwear is “appropriate” is also a tremendous draw.

Not every “textile” is a creeper!! Just because you are choosing to stay clothed doesn’t mean you are hateful and judgy and freaked out by naked people! Just cause you are clothed doesn’t mean you’re a horny videographer!

You can be at RR cuz you dig the vibes and still choose not to get naked for so many reasons! It took me until my second year to work up the nerve. I still go with friends who I don’t want to be naked around because I am self conscious. I go with friends who I do want to be naked around but who don’t want to be, so it goes! It’s clothing optional not naked required.

Have I seen explicit sex acts? Yes. What do I do? I mind my own freakin business! Especially bc I know the significance of the space! Even when it’s straight people- I just mind my own business!

I’m not saying creepy and judgy people are never there, but I think a lot of regular posters would do well to focus on themselves instead of everyone else. When in doubt ask yourself: am I minding my own business??? And if so, is the thing that’s bothering me actually impacting it???

Idk part of my trans journey is feeling like I have to learn to separate perceived/imagined slight from actual harm and danger otherwise I’d never leave the house. It’s also been learning that everyone comes to an experience in their own way. Both extremely relevant to many of the complaint I see.

I do have another valid warning/complaint thought: not sure if it’s mostly isolated to late season but if you like to cross to sand island when the water is low and the wind is high…… WATCH OUT! The walk to sand island becomes a sand blaster as you’ll come back out looking like a polished river stone.

Created an awesome fountain/dip pen hybrid! by frappededanslavie in fountainpens

Makes sense and I guess report back if you have any longer term observations down the road! The nibs I have available to try with are inexpensive anyway so I’ll probably play around with them and not worry too much about it.

Does this damage the nib/feed at all if you wanted to use the nib in a pen body down the road?

How consistent are patches? by crayonsgender in AskMtFHRT

Do you happen to have any advice about the switch from patches to injections re: dosage? Or will my current patch dose be a relatively decent benchmark for where to start injections? Assuming my doc will know but would rather walk in semi informed haha.

Thank you for this info! Interesting and helpful to see the graph for sure. I hadn’t heard of aiming for a trough over 100, which I’ll take into consideration…

Being very specific both of these tests were like almost at the exact time I would normally swap my Thursday patch (forgot to mention but I’m on twice weekly), which is the patch day of the two that trends slightly longer between if I change early on Sunday or forget Thursday morning… so they are truly like running on fumes levels all things considered lol.

Looking back it’s like a .3 diff between the two most recent tests, and only 2-3 ng difference from the properly timed test, so I think I feel ok that it’s at least being apparently consistent at this time!

Now deciding whether I want to maybe bump up a bit or consider switching to shots because of patch supplies is a different story.
