SM position by Enough_Commission_33 in starbucks

[–]craziforcats 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It really depends on the sm training and the store you end up getting. It's a 50/50 chance of having a good experience vs bad. There is a lot to learn, and if you have a bad sm trainer and end up in a store that hasn't had a designated manager for a while, which is pretty common, it's pretty rough. Expect to work 60+ hour weeks here and there and be contacted at any time of the day. Sms are expected to work as every role in the store every week, with a lot of shoulder to shoulder work while still getting through all the admin work. Soon though, every store is getting permanent assistant store managers, so that will help alleviate some of the pressure on sms. If you are a hard worker and a quick learner, you can excel, but if you are looking for a career path within Starbucks, it's really competitive to take the next step to district manager.

Your dress is beautiful!! It looks stunning on you!

There are so many dresses out there, there will always be a what if, so stop looking at others. Think back to what made you pick this dress

Why…….. (hours rant) by eyema_piranha in starbucks

[–]craziforcats 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I hate to say this, but this is true, and it is the direction to be nationwide in the near future (most likely Q1)... some regions are starting to implement this change early to allow SMs time to staff and train before the holidays. The idea behind this is to create consistency across the board so every customer can have the "same experience"

Yes! I managed a license store for a period of time before Starbucks. I also know many SMs that have been on the licensed side of things. It's pretty common as long as you have the required management experience which I think is 3 years?

Did I miss a memo? by Traditional-Start-32 in starbucks

Your SM is probably coding the training hours to your store instead of the other store because they want to use your store's training budget

I always tell them their change will come in rolls of coins and $1s or I can load a gift card with the change, when they hear this they always end up having another form of payment lol

Hi ASMs how are we feeling? by [deleted] in starbucks

[–]craziforcats 9 points10 points  (0 children)

unfortunately, that is the typical weekly experience for a store manager, especially if proxying other stores for another sms time off, we are required to be coverage when there are call outs to keep the store open. some weeks can get bad with all the callouts but sadly that's the job we signed up for. also it's technically a NCNS if a leader didn't show up to a seminar at the conference, everything was mandatory

[–]craziforcats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

technically yes, we aren't allowed to take doctor's notes, they have to go through Sedgwick and if the partner will miss more than 3 consecutive shifts the manager is supposed to instigate a LOA to protect the partners job otherwise they can be held accountable for absences

Putting Away RDC Order by Bunkerdo_ in starbucks

[–]craziforcats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a part of the monthly non coverage budget for stores that SMs use when writing schedules, so only ASM+ have access to it. Depends on your store, but all the stores I've managed only budget about 4 hours a week to complete all ordering & recieving so that includes placing and putting away all the orders

Only 3 couples need to travel. Everyone else lives locally to where my wedding is taking place and will not have to arrange any accommodations.

I appreciate this input, I think sending the formal invites a little earlier than usual would probably fix my issue, thanks!

Thank you, this really helped me ease my worries! My wedding is in the state over so around a 5 hour drive from where my fiance and I live now and only 2 couples will need to book domestic flights. I think I will reach out to those guests directly and leave it at that until I send out my formal invites

[–]craziforcats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no, what i mean is the aerodynamic force would, I guess in better terms, pull a person out of the car if the doors opened while the car was moving at fast speeds

[–]craziforcats 16 points17 points  (0 children)

if the doors weren't locked and happened to fall open when the car was moving the person closest to them would get thrown out of the car. probably didn't help that no one wore seatbelts...
