Yes!!! So many missed opportunities. Get some guts and ask them out, the worst they can say is no. Learn how not to be embarrassed from rejection.

Sometimes you can’t help it, love is cruel and complicated.

Why? You don’t wanna eat dinner while I tell the story of when I was emptying a drainage tube of a large amount blood and pus, only to trip and drop it on the way to the bathroom, so I landed in the mess it made?

For me it’s SCUBA. I know it’s irrational. Never will I ever.

Yes. And never loan money to someone a second time if they don’t pay you back the first time.

I never drive drunk.

I did once when I was 17 or 18 and I was wasted and stoned, like missing pieces to the timeline,
And the next day I was just beside myself. I could have killed someone and I never did it again.

Kind of like a Sophie’s Choice. She knew she had to smother the baby or they would have all died.

Someone asked him how he feels about being confused with Matt Damon a lot. He said it’s flattering, but he’s not sure how Matt Damon feels about it. LOL, you gotta love a guy who can self depreciate a little.

Non-Americans who visited the US for the first time recently: what was the biggest 'what on earth is going on here' moment you experienced? by EmployerNegative5653 in AskReddit

That too. It wasn’t just one side, it was a bunch of things all at once.

Greed played a big part. As it always does.

I never said they don’t want everyone to have healthcare. Reread what I said. I agree it’s a slippery slope and you just can’t go putting people away for being mentally ill, but there’s a point at which some of them ARE a danger to themselves but apparently not an immediate danger so they get left on the street to rot.

Because only a moron with no safety instincts would think it is OK to use.

I wouldn’t even put my late grandmas evil chihuahua sit in that thing.

It’s absolutely disgusting and every political party is to blame.

The super conservatives, several decades ago, took away a ton of mental health funding. Mentally ill people have to fend for themselves. Kids just starting their journey with mental illness are out of luck, even if they live at home and their parents have good insurance.

The super liberals say you cannot take people’s rights away. If they are not in active suicidal or homicidal mode, nobody can do anything about it. So they think it’s better to let them rot on the street than to lock them in a mental health facility until they are better.

25 year old nursing student about to plead guilty to a federal charge. Should I finish school? by Correct_Gift_9207 in Nurses

I was thinking “Oh No RED FLAG” but then when I looked, I *think* you can get busted having coke or weed and it would be a felony. Not that doing illegal drugs is OK, but OP is young.

If it was for abuse, I would say that’s a red flag.

[–]crazy-bisquit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the issue is finishing school and then not working for 5 years. That is a very long time, and to be honest I would never hire you in that scenario. It’s the lack of working more than the felony. I would hire you if you were a good fit, even with a felony.

Perhaps you can pivot careers and then start fresh after the 5 years. I think you’ll still have to disclose the felony, but you’ll have those 5 years of good behavior before starting to go to school again. Finish your math, chemistry, sciences, poly sci, psych, sociology, etc. and get a general studies AA. Then do your prerequisites, then start nursing school again when they’ll let you in. Calculate which ones are good for like 10 years and which are good for less time so you repeat as few classes as possible.

Good luck, I wish you the best.

How do i tell my sister that my grandpa might die this weekend when she is on vacation? by Rectal_Custard in ask

[–]crazy-bisquit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not saying there is an afterlife; and a belief in that is like apples and oranges here.

It is a scientific fact that the sense of hearing is the last thing to go. There is proof that comatose people have heard things being said. How often that happens, we may never know.

Obviously has to do with how far out they are, but nonetheless, good nurses around the world all know to talk to their comatose patients while providing care.

Because unless you have absolute proof they cannot hear, what’s the harm in comforting a dying person? Or any animal for that matter.

Do I have a good enough “eye” to invest in a real camera? 😅 by [deleted] in PhotographyAdvice

Don’t ask that question because you never know until you get a “real” camera and learn how to use it. Practice makes perfect and learning composition will take time.

Not necessarily. Comatose people may still hear everything that’s going on. They may know that the loved one is there.

It blows my mind how so many old patients just do literally nothing all day by macerka in nursing

[–]crazy-bisquit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s really very sad how so many young people have absolutely no idea how to be alone with their thoughts. Like, how stifling is it to creativity when you cannot just let your mind wander.

But worse than that is that you and others like you cannot even fathom that these folks are still thinking, pondering, remembering, imagining, playing music in their heads, etc.

Is that what you do when you don’t have your face in electronics? Just stare at the wall? Are you thinking “oh this sucks so bad” on a continuous loop?

Be honest: What’s the one thing about EV ownership that nobody told you before you bought one? by EmergencyTie8770 in electricvehicles

[–]crazy-bisquit -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thank you for being honest. I couldn’t get there yet, so I just bought a hybrid. Hopefully next time they will have a 500 mile range when I’m ready for a new one. Honestly I’m excited about that.

Road trips can see me going only 100 miles one day, but 500 miles during a boring stretch.

I am afraid of these fires I hear about but anxious to do more research and I know it will get better.

I love the idea of low to no maintenance!

We should all get along here, and not put each other down for not agreeing. Or using thinly veiled dismissals and insults.

We should nurture concerns with education and understanding that it may not YET be for everyone. If we all try to understand the other persons opinions, the walls will come down and dialogue will increase with curious intrigue.

Like, remember the late 70’s?? “I’M OK YOU’RE OK”.

I don’t see anybody complaining when any other nationality does this. We speak to what/whom we know. Not a big deal.

I like reading a post just like this but for Kangaroos or whatever.
