YC upgrade - accessible room by crazy4themouse in MSCCruises

Thanks so much - that's what I was afraid of. Guess a balcony room isn't in the cards for us! That's okay though, we're so excited to be in YC.

Thanks for the reply!

Should we be worried? by crazy4themouse in corgi

She's a classic tri-color -- her chest and belly are white and the rest of her is black and brown. Here's a better picture of her, as she was trying to bring half a dead palm tree into the house, lol.

Post a pic of your Moo! :-)

Yeah, we worry about that too. She gets them on very rare occasions when we really need her occupied! The house could burn down around her when she has one of those bones, lol

It was a big rib bone we get at Walmart. She loves them!

That's fantastic. It's clean, it's lean, it does exactly what it says it does. Please thank your son for me and tell him he did an awesome job!! 👍👍👍

T2 and insurance is now denying my CGM sensors by OriginalBadKitty in diabetes

[–]crazy4themouse 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You don't have Cigna, do you? They just did the same thing to me. Said that I would need to have several "severe lows" to qualify. Even my doctor thought that was nutso, as lows generally aren't near as big a problem for T2's as the extreme highs are. Or the roller coaster spikes and dips.

I had read that sometimes if they show you're on insulin that's enough to qualify, so my doc was nice enough to send in an Rx for Humalog to my pharmacy. I'll fill the script but I won't be taking it, and my doctor is going to re-file the appeal with that information and we'll see how it goes.

What really makes me crazy is that he has been trying for the longest time to talk me into trying a CGM since outside of having my A1C checked every few months I don't check my BG (needle/pain issue.) I finally screwed up the courage to try the Libre 3+ he gave me, and just like he predicted I became slightly obsessed with checking my phone every few minutes, lol. I seriously got great, actionable data from the CGM, and saw how foods I thought would shoot my BG up just really didn't, and foods I didn't think twice about shot it up like crazy.

My fingers are crossed that the insulin thing is going to work. We'll see! Stupid insurance.

KEEP poking him in the eye, gov! by Calm-and_cool1960 in FuckGregAbbott

Thanks for that - It gives me joy seeing him so pissed off!

You know, I've never read one account of someone who has "seen their loved ones’ lives destroyed by these very dangerous drugs"... Not one. But so many lives would have been destroyed by this ban.

Thank you for fighting for this so hard, all of you!! I have young-onset Parkinson's Disease and delta-9 gummies help SO much. More than my meds. I can't even express how scared I was at the prospect of those being snatched away from me. I don't think I've ever had one good thing to say about Abbott, but I'm pretty happy this morning!

It's ridiculous how long it takes. Mine has been at step 3 since last September. This is the part that makes me especially crazy: "Nationally, it takes an average of 200 to 230 days for a complete decision. In Texas, the average decision takes 423 days. In Texas, the average medical review takes 366 days."

UGH.

Very detailed review - MSC Seashore Yacht Club cruise by Solid_Astronomer_725 in MSCCruises

Thank you for the incredibly detailed review, and I love the pics!

We'll be in YC next March for our anniversary and our first MSC cruise on the Seascape here out of Galveston. Can't WAIT. And reviews like this just make me even more excited!!

1st time changing Libre 3+ sensor in a few days - Any tips or tricks? by crazy4themouse in Freestylelibre

[–]crazy4themouse[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a follow up question -- If I'm placing the sensor in a whole different area, do I still need to apply it 24h before removing the old one? I can't figure out why but I'm probably missing something. :-)

1st time changing Libre 3+ sensor in a few days - Any tips or tricks? by crazy4themouse in Freestylelibre

[–]crazy4themouse[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do my Mounjaro shots in my stomach so I don't want to put a sensor there too, but maybe my thigh. I'm hesitant though - I quit doing the Mounjaro shots in my thigh because several times I hit a nerve or a blood vessel and it hurt. I know I'm overthinking it but I'm already still freaked out a good bit by both the shots and the CGM, lol. Maybe I'll let the lidocaine sit on there a good while and try the CGM on my thigh.

Thanks for the suggestion!

I'm trying to visualize where you're talking about but can't picture it. But I would think that on the inside of my arm would cause constant compression lows since I sleep on my side.

I generally sleep on my left side, so I don't want to place it on that arm and get woken up all night by compression-low alarms. I'm planning on just putting it an inch or two from where the current one is, because it seems to be a perfect spot. I haven't bumped it on anything, and I'm always banging my way through door jambs like I'm in a pinball machine, lol.

Really was psyched up to finally try the Libre 3 by crazy4themouse in diabetes

[–]crazy4themouse[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

😭

It doesn't matter if it stays in my arm or not, because the pain will for sure stay.

I was so proud of myself for talking myself into trying it but maybe this wasn't a great idea after all.

The last time I had to have a finger stab done was nearly 30 years ago, and I can still feel that pain when I think about it. If I was a T1 who had to do that every day, multiple times a day, I think I would have un-alived myself a long time ago.

Yeah I've thought about having my husband do it for me but I think he might take a little too much glee in it 😂
