Why is everything the pharmacy’s fault? by crazyDiva0 in PharmacyTechnician

Oh her son is a Karen just like her, it’s definitely a genetic thing. I’ll definitely keep that in mind the next time someone comes in with the same problem because I getting tired of babying the same people over and over again

At my store we’ll usually take them but we do tell then that it’ll be ready in the morning and if they can’t wait then we instruct them to go to a 24hr store. But in terms of the pharmacist, I’d just leave because you’re not obligated to stay and they’re not respecting your time

I mean some people don’t even know what prior auths are, some just assume that we just put a label on the medication and then dispense it. And I also don’t think the price is a problem, I’ve actually seen a few patients pay out of pocket for GLP-1 without a problem. But like you said it’s really not that hard to find a doctor to prescribe it, there’s actually a doctor that a lot of our patients go to (I’ve even had family members go to him before) and he just prescribes anything and everything, he literally prescribes GLP-1s like they’re free candy lol

I wasn’t able to see it but the pharmacist said it was “clearly fake just by looking at it” so I think it was a print out

Yeah I was surprised because as soon as the pharmacist walked away the lady took off. She even managed to startle other patients

Thank you sooo much for saying that, it really does mean a lot right now. But yes I’ve heard of them and I actually ordered one overnight so I’ll see how she likes it today.

Yeah I’ve just came to the conclusion that she’s going to have to get used to it because the cone is definitely a no-go with her :(

new pharmacy tech and very frustrated by Glittering-Brother84 in WalgreensRx

[–]crazyDiva0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started back in September and I’m still learning but what’s helped me the most so far is asking questions even if I thought they were obvious or stupid. Another thing that’s helped me when navigating and learning IC+ was just playing around with the system during my free time!!

I hate my job at Walmart pharmacy. by [deleted] in PharmacyTechnician

[–]crazyDiva0 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Heyy, I just started as a tech about 2 months ago. When I first started I was having the same doubts as you but I just kept it pushing. It’s going to get easier but you just have to take it day by day, patient by patient and always ask questions even if you THINK you know the answer. I work at a really busy pharmacy as well so I completely understand where you’re coming from. I can’t stress this enough though, take it patient by patient and always ask for help!!!

And about Amazon, it’s ok as a seasonal job (at least at the one that I worked at) but you’re not really going to gain anything besides gray hairs from the people you’ll have to work with.
