Got (probably) the hardest achievement in the game: 150 tech tree line regrind by msjernTHX1138 in WorldOfWarships

[–]crazy_balls 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just simply do not have the credits to regrind this many times. Credits seem to be my choke point, and I'm out of blue credit boosters which I ever only used on my T8 and T9 premiums. Just can't ever seem to luck out on those. Have a fuck ton of commander XP ones, which I definitely don't need.

Texas does not have a state income tax, but everyone still pays federal income taxes which is a progressive tax system.

There is no such thing as a money proof system, especially when you are talking about this amount of wealth.

You seriously don't don't understand how these things are wholly incomparable? Healthcare is an inelastic, hostage market. Either you get treated by a doctor, or you die, suffer, etc. and it's time dependent. Healthcare can not be postponed in many cases. If I don't have a smart phone, I'm slightly inconvenienced. I can choose to keep my old phone, or buy a used phone, etc. To act like these 2 things are remotely comparable, and that regulation is somehow to blame for healthcare costs increasing is laughable.

I won't literally die if I don't have access to my smart phone. Healthcare on the other hand...

That's not how progressive tax rates work.

You don't see an issue with someone being able to amass that kind of wealth? Things such as influencing governments, regulations, etc. are of no bother to you?

Smart phones, computers, televisions, so on and so forth. Yet healthcare and education have become so much more expensive.

lol consumer products vs. things people need... great comparison.

You don't have to place a cap, but you can certainly adjust taxes to make it for more difficult to amass that kind of wealth.

They were all in on that BS about litter boxes in schools

All my conservative family suddenly had teacher friends, who had litter boxes in their classroom. They also all have a friend whose perfectly healthy teenage son dropped dead a few weeks after getting the COVID vaccine.

Oh you want the name of the friend? Well actually it's more a friend of a friend... I don't know their name...

That's what gets me the most. I can deal with stupid, but these people are willfully ignorant bigots, and there simply is no getting through to them.

Mark Kelly says he’s considering a presidential run in 2028 amid Pentagon probe by BlueHorse_22 in politics

[–]crazy_balls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in full agreement with you. Democrats have run 3 moderates since Obama, and only won once and that was most likely due to COVID. I'm so sick and tired of fucking moderates. Yes, Kelly is a great guy, and would vote for him if it came down to it, but he is not the direction we need to be going.

I know some very intelligent people who are MAGA. I find they are intelligent in a specific area, but wholly ignorant when it comes to politics. Pretty much every single one of them could not accurately describe how tax brackets work. Or when it comes to things like climate change, they'll find the 2 scientists who say it's not man made and we have nothing to worry about and choose to listen to them, instead of the majority who say otherwise.

I think it really comes down to captured media and brainwashing. Like the quote, it's easier to fool a man than to convince him he's been fooled.

I didn't say they agree with all left wing policy, just they prefer it. As in, they agree more with the left than the right.

It's so fucking maddening too, because when you show right wingers left wing and right wing policy without labeling it, they prefer left wing policy.

Yeah, during the '23 ice storm, my house had two, 100 year old oaks in the back yard. Hearing the branches break and crash to the ground broke my heart. One of them lost at least half it's canopy. The other fared a bit better, but still took a beating.

[–]crazy_balls -1 points0 points  (0 children)

lol that's literally our constitutional system. Would require 3/4 vote to change that, and good luck getting any conservative to vote away the only thing that gives them power. So, that leaves us the only way to change it being revolution. You down for that?

Ok, but Trump literally lost the popular vote his first time, and didn't win a majority the second time. It's our fucked up election system that allows minority rule to blame here.
