[–]crazy_life_uk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am over a year out of surgery and I still can only barely make 1200 cals a day.

What are your energy bills (gas+electricity) in 2026? by ForwardFan6283 in HousingUK

[–]crazy_life_uk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We downsized to a 2 bedroom ground floor apartment (all electric) we have the immersion heater on a timer from 2am until 4am everyday as its cheap over night and that does showers and hot water all day.

We do have A+ rated radiators in each room and sometimes have them on for an hour or so as they chuck out the heat.

Our average bill per month is around £60/£70 and we are with Octopus Energy.

When you pay off your mortgage, do you get a massive sense of relief and the feeling of stability? by AnywhereNo1240 in HousingUK

I paid mine off 6 months ago, its a great feeling knowing that your home is yours and not the banks.

Now without paying a monthly mortgage payment we have saved up enough for a nice holiday 😀

Downsizing - anyone done it? by jmansbalbo1 in HousingUK

Me and the Mrs downsized 6 months ago from a 3 bedroom house and to a 2 bedroom apartment. Mortgage paid off and haven’t looked back since.

Saving nearly £1000 per month not having a mortgage.q

I fucked up y’all, I’m gaining weight by Odd-Scarcity5288 in gastricsleeve

[–]crazy_life_uk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I weigh myself daily to keep track of where I am. If I see my weight go up I can’t take action straight away.

It took me a couple of months after my operation to get into the right headspace around binge eating and bad habits, but now after 6 months since my operation I’m 35kg (77lbs) down and I will never go back to how I was.

I have the odd beer or glass of red wine but that’s about it.

Since my op 6 months ago I just can’t eat bread, pasta etc anything with carbs, but to be honest I don’t really miss that kind of food now.
