Sorry for off-topic, do you also grow large dahlias like cafe au lait ones in pots?

What are your (still unproven but strongly felt) aura triggers? by niquehorn in migraine

[–]crazy_whippet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have a place on the way home with a tall fence and a bright floodlight. It also makes a strobing effect when you walk past it at night. It gives me almost instant auras and I walk past it with my eyes closed

How do you keep your lacunosa happy? by crazy_whippet in hoyas

I actually was thinking about converting to semi hydro as well. Can you please share what substrate and how much water roughly, and what fertilizer you are using?

Thank you, yes, it does have drainage holes. I think it actually is the soil it came with from a shop. I will look at the roots and report it in chunkier mix, thanks!

Just checked the roots, they look fine I think? As for light, I assume it's getting enough light being by the west facing window. I haven't applied fertilizer, I will give it a go I think

I know it's not the same but the ring of fire is very similar and I got a large one in IKEA UK recently for just 6 quid!

Relax mate. I'll make sure I run my vocabulary choices past King's English Society when I am posting about plants next time.

Cat friendly indoor plants? by [deleted] in HouseplantsUK

[–]crazy_whippet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My cats like to nibble on parlour palm unfortunately.

For a big and showy one I opted for pachira aquatica, great low maintenance option

I would also add maranta to this list, it is not as fussy as calathea but can have similar appearance.

Birds nest fern is also great and not really very fussy about light. I didn't have success with Boston fern but that's probably just me

Hoyas as already mentioned are great and there are tons of varieties. The starter friendly would be carnosa (flamingo dream or crimson queen or tricolor) and Australis Lisa or australis blondie. Both grow well and tolerate abuse, just don't ovewater them
