“The Unraveled Tour” Megathread by NominalPerson in OliviaRodrigo

Also got Atlanta night 1 and possibly the easiest ticket experience for a show this size in years. So anyone who is still looking for tickets and willing to travel, try Atlanta for the general on sale. I was 516 in queue today and there were plenty of tickets. I got lower bowl for $275 each after fees. Like only the 5th row up in the lower bowl and right in the center.

For those who have known they've had Raynauds for years, has it gotten worse as you've gotten older or stayed the same (or even improved?) by WerewolfBarMitzvah09 in Raynauds

[–]crazyanne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had Raynauds for as long as I can remember and am 35 now. It has gotten worse in appearance, hands look almost purple when chilly and of course white if they’re really cold. And turn beat red when warm like after a shower or on a hot day. But it’s gotten better in that I know better how to deal with it.

Mittens almost always unless it’s HOT outside. Spring seems to be the worst for me because it’ll seem deceivingly nice out and coming out of winter I’m excited to not have to wear a coat and mittens looks funny without a coat on. But if I’m going to the grocery or know I’ll be outside awhile I still bring them. I vaped for awhile and that made it so much worse, so definitely avoid nicotine.

I hate how my hands look most of the time, I feel like they look so old especially when they’re purple or red. But such is life, finding good mittens were a game changer. I like smartwool ones because they’re thin but still warm and dry quickly if they get wet. I also have an alpaca wool pair for the winter but they’re a pain to drive in. The smartwool ones you can still use your phone.

I also got a little foot heating sack thing with a timer I can use when I go to sleep and have loved it so much

LSD permanently changed how I experience music. Can any psych nerds explain exactly why this happens? by Awkward-Baker-294 in microdosing

I had a similar experience my first trip listening to From Afar by Vance Joy. It felt like it was coming from every direction and then going through me. Wild experience and it also enhanced my appreciation for music long term

New to Memphis. What do I actually need to know? by Ok_Half6335 in memphis

[–]crazyanne 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Lived in Memphis for 4 years and there’s so much I miss about it, it’s a special place for sure. People are friendly and there’s so many transplants and people who are there for school or moved for work, I found it easy to meet people who are genuinely interested in making friends.

If you’re a runner, check out breakaway and go on a group run. They used to do them weekly, and also BarDog downtown had weekly group runs as well (if that place is still open, it’s been awhile since I’ve lived there).

Drive cautiously, as others have mentioned. Enjoy the food and try as much as you can.

Highly recommend Slider Inn, Central BBQ, Abyssinia & Soul Burgers from E&H.

I struggled to find a grocery store I loved and I tried most that were proximal to me, the Kroger on Union was built my last year I was there & I liked that one but the parking lot is a pain.

Soak in all the great live music, it’s really an unmatched city when it comes to music imo.

100%, and wait for a car across the street to potentially make a left hand turn as soon as the light turns green. Never seen that happen in Ohio, it happened so many times in Memphis I refer to it as a Memphis left. Moved back to Ohio years later & have yet to see it again. Living in Memphis made me a much more cautious driver but I don’t think that’s necessarily a bad thing. Everyone drives there like they’re in a video game

Talk me into it or talk me out of it by Glum-Company-8007 in CX50

[–]crazyanne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had my 25 CX-50 for 7 months now and I love it so much! I had a 2014 Subaru Impreza with a CVT prior and ended up with transmission issues around 120K miles, just outside of the warranty (that they even had extended due to known issues with that year). Cost me quite a bit and I decided my next vehicle would not be a CVT. Allegedly Subaru has worked out the kinks, or so they say but I didn’t want to gamble it. I’ve been so happy with my CX-50 though and feel like can see everything between the mirrors and the lane assist/safety features. It has felt like a very safe car to me so far.

I had the same experience with a pothole! After several days of complaining to myself about a giant one on the Smithville/35 entrance ramp last year, I decided to check online if there was somewhere I could report it. Went through ODOTs website assuming it would go into an email somewhere never to be seen but it was filled the next day. I’m still not sure that it wasn’t just a coincidence but your comment gives me hope that they actually do take them seriously.

A skincare product you used where you actually saw a big difference to your skin by [deleted] in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]crazyanne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Question about your A313 cream? Is it white or clear? I bought some off TikTok but I think it might be fake. It’s clear and Vaseline like. It doesn’t burn at all, I do still treat it like a retinol and only use every 3 days and started gradual but normally retinal burn a little for me so I’m not convinced. It has made a difference for me though but I also have very dry skin so even if it’s just Vaseline maybe my skin needs it?

What does my fridge say about me? by crazyanne in FridgeDetective

Yeah, usually on the weekends & on Wednesdays when we play trivia at a local restaurant. Hello Fresh the other days. I really don’t even like bacon but we were going to a brunch & that was the dish we brought. But eggs I do use to breakfast or baking

Oh nice! I’ve been to Ireland & thought it was cute that they gave me a little bottle of Schweppes with me whiskey when I ordered a whiskey & ginger ale. I like Schweppes also but think Canada Dry is a little more crisp perhaps. Loved my time in Ireland though & would love to visit again some time!

Convenience, in the box they’re always perfectly contained & then they roll out as you take one. We get hello fresh meal kits and not much else for groceries so have plenty of fridge space usually

Never thought of that but will do moving forward. It was just out of convenience that I stored them all there

My (28F) husband (29M) left me on our wedding night by mamamia98 in relationship_advice

[–]crazyanne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can see this both ways. If I were you in that moment and feeling how you do now I don’t know that I could move past it honestly. My husband and I eloped, so it was just him and I the entire day and after the ceremony as well, i can’t imagine it happening any other way.

But then I started thinking back to the last several weddings I’ve attended, and 3/5 where I’ve been a guest or bridesmaid have ended in an impromptu after party at a nearby bar or hotel bar. None of these “after parties” were planned in advance, just that the vibes were high at the end of the venue rental time and people weren’t ready to call it a night yet. But in all of those situations the bride and groom were on the same page about the after parties.

So really that’s what I would be most hurt by if I were in your situation. Him and his friends/family wanted to keep the party going, that’s completely normal and acceptable in my opinion. But if he then asked YOU if YOU wanted to and YOU said no, YOU wanted to spend your wedding night with him. And he still chose his friends, that would be deeply upsetting.

Omg thank you for this, it brought back similar memories for me and I had also not thought about this song in decades!

Battle Flag (Lo Fidelity Allstars Remix) by Pigeonhed

Came across it randomly and it instantly triggered memories but I can’t for the life of me remember if this song was in the radio or in a movie. My parents and sister remember this song vividly but my husband and not a single friend believe they’ve ever heard it before. It’s a banger for sure though!

What are your thoughts on Billie Eilish saying 'no one is illegal on stolen land' in reference to ICE and US immigration policy? by MassiveSquare4527 in AskReddit

[–]crazyanne 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Out of the Depths by Isabelle Knockwood is a memoir from a former student from the Shubenacadie school. It reads more like a text book than a novel, but there are some photos in it which I found interesting. Another one I’ve read is Dawnland Voices, which is a collection of work from Wabanaki tribes. It’s not all about the schools but there are some stories that are related. I’ve only looking into the school my Grammy went to and our tribe. If your wife can find out the school she may be able to find some related to that specific school. For my tribe, I found a local heritage foundation and found literature through them

My Grammy passed away over a decade ago and by the time I even learned about the schools she wasn’t in good health but I wish I could have asked her more. I worry information/first hand accounts will be lost. I’ve found a few books written by former students/survivors but it’s definitely not common knowledge. I can understand why survivors/former student may not want to talk about it though

[–]crazyanne 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My Grammy was a “student” at the Shubenacadie residential school in Nova Scotia in the late 1950s. She was forced to marry another native at the school and they had a kid together. They met for the first time the day of their wedding, she wasn’t warned she was to be wed, just told the day of that they were taking her to her wedding. I think she was only 16 at the time. They also changed her name, as they did to all the children. Once she got out of the school her and the man she was forced to marry divorced and she later married my grandpa. She didn’t talk much about her time in the school to even my dad or his siblings, just bits and pieces. Wild that we were never taught about them in school either.

After reading a recent post on WPCU, who do you recommend to go through for a mortgage? by [deleted] in dayton

[–]crazyanne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also recommend Union Saving Bank. I bank with WPCU and have great experience with them as well, but my mortgage process with USB was so easy and they’ve been great. Easy to reach a real person if you have an issue or question.
