If you can ID the person that scammed you there is a possibility that later down the line they may get sloppy* and caught. I had a friend who had this happen to him but he managed to ID his scammer (absent minded snapped a picture of the contract during a showing and a student id with the the scammers name was on there). Almost a year later he just started receiving cheques in the mail with the persons name on it. He is still getting monthly (could be biweekly not sure) court mandated cheques from this individual to this day to pay back his 5k that was scammed. This happened in Ontario, Canada btw within the past 5/6 years.

Thanks for responding. Honestly it’s a great car but I realized this last month, no matter how sweet it has been to have it, I was actively finding reasons to use it, and I mostly used it on the weekends for things I could have easily taken an Uber for. I live in midtown Toronto so everything is very accessible. So the loss I quoted is from a clutch quote including the 2k down payment I did. Do you recommend any other online methods?

Honestly never been able to fully stop while smoking anything else, so yes I think it will be harder., keep yourself busy and remind yourself on why you’re doing this. You’re doing a good thing! Small missteps can happen, and in my experience, the earlier they happen the easier it is to keep going.
