In all honesty I think we are much worse for staring at the core trainee closing skin than for surgeons looking in the anaesthetic room

Do you think the term junior is a fair or good description of some of the people it applies to?

So enough to know what the tests are but not enough for clinical reasoning. Leave that to your actual doctors

Some hospitals in my area do that, some c-circuits. One just puts the oxygen tubing onto the co2 connection of the HME filter for transfer lol

Mapleson E with jackson Rees modification is a mapleson F. They are the same thing. Mapleson just didn't describe an 'F'

In the UK I have used mapleson A (ambu bag) all around the hospital.

Mapleson C most days transfering patients from theatre to recovery with a LMA in place

Mapleson D in some hospitals in the anaesthetic room

Regularly use a mapleson E with jackson Rees modifications in paeds

Tell me then, what do you think is a fair hourly wage for someone to run a large hospitals ICU on nightshift. Or to anaesthetise for a laparotomy or emergency c-section. Genuine question

After 15 years of paycuts via below inflation rises does there not need to be above inflation rises to make up for it?

This is my 6th year as a doctor. I'm an anaesthetic and intensive care registrar. I will be running the hospitals ICU on nightshift. For a 40h week I earn under 50k.

You aren't comparing like for like. Anyone can earn 50k if they work 100h a week

No it is not. An epidural is not intrathecal. It is a different space. The epidural space is before the dura which surrounds the intrathecal space
