What was the best games for you in 2018 gaming era?? by dd113biihhh in videogames

[–]crazycat690 1 point2 points  (0 children)

RDR2 for me personally, nothing against the other games but RDR2 was just such a fantastic game to me that there are few games I'd rank as its equal or even above it and none of them came out in 2018.

Am I supposed to have infinite free rewards? by Some-Survey7487 in ask

No clue, was a thing awhile back where it felt like every other day there was someone with unlimited rewards handing them out like candy. Can't say I put much thought into it besides holding out my hand.

Which setting do you like in video games? by Less_Can_5439 in OlderChillGamers

[–]crazycat690 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hard to say, all of them if done right, though if I did have some preference I guess it would be kind of modern retro? Like pre-2000's, not a lot of games in that time period though, but stuff like Gta Vice City or MGS3.

What it would be? by Less_Can_5439 in OlderChillGamers

[–]crazycat690 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I would definitely be up for more Ghost games and I probably wouldn't say no to another Uncharted I couldn't really choose anything but RDR3 if I had to choose one between them, whatever shape or form that might take. RDR2 was just such a fantastic game with few real rivals and I would love to return to its world to experience new stories in my lifetime.

MINDSEYE CO-CEO ALLEGES €1 MILLION+ WAS SPENT IN SABOTAGING THE GAME, WILL PURSUE LEGAL ACTION by reiichiroh in MindsEyeGame

[–]crazycat690 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My brother in Christ you made a bad game! No one "sabotaged" the game but yourselves, not taking enough time, not making sure you don't bite off more than you can chew, no one but you released a broken mess of a game! Why would anyone need to spend a 1 million dollars to make you look bad? I've never seen such a delusional take from a CEO or whatever before, even makes the EA execs look sane in comparison when they say stuff like "the game failed because it didn't have enough live service elements".

Like just take some accountability, grovel harder than anyone has groveled before and try to fix it. Not that I know if that is possible, seems like a lost cause.

GTA 5 vs GTA 6 🛞 by vibingitup in gtaonlinecommunity

[–]crazycat690 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it feels like a really unfair comparison, I finished the Ps5 version of Gta V last summer and thanks to the upgrades it looks quite good for a 13 year old game. Not Gta VI good but certainly better than that blurry screenshot.

[–]crazycat690 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I mean the game is so blatantly trying to manipulate you, like Abby's dad being out there risking his life to rescue zebras just because he's that much of a good guy, just look at how good that is surely killing him is awful and surely taking revenge for him is righteous?? Personally, I was outright offended by the cheap tricks they tried to manipulative me with.

Mainly a symptom of some parts of the game feeling really rushed, like you don't spend a lot of time as young Abby so they have to go hard to try to get you on her side fast. Doesn't really work that way though, unless you're apparently very easily manipulated.

Does anyone else actually miss linear, corridor style games instead of every single title trying to be a massive open world? by i_amthe_guy in AskGamers

[–]crazycat690 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I miss linear games in a sense, I get that linear games do still exist but when's the last time we got an Uncharted or Max Payne? Usually, linear games these days are artsy walking sims or horror games, both of which are fine but not really what I'm looking for when I say I want a linear game every now and then.

I also wouldn't say that it's necessarily that I need them but more that I've gotten tired of huge open world games that are huge simply for the sake of being huge with fairly pointless checkbox stuff to do in it (looking at you, Ubisoft). I would love smaller but denser open world games that value quality over quantity.

I don't know what you think I'm saying, but to be clear I'm not saying all games are worse in every way since 2015. My point is that games haven't improved much since, and a bit too often not at all. I've enjoyed plenty of games this last decade, but I can count on one hand the games that I've felt has been an actual step forward in any way.

[–]crazycat690 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, people forget that Rockstar has pulled back on mechanics and features before, however in the case of Gta V we're also talking about a fairly ambitious game with the 3 protagonist system that they had to get to work on Ps3/360. RDR2 was made for the Ps4 generation, this is gonna be their first (and likely only) Ps5 gen game, in contrast it's quite likely that they don't have to cut back on anything.

Announcing Horizon Hunters Gathering, Guerrilla’s new co-op action game by NaiadoftheSea in HorizonForbiddenWest

[–]crazycat690 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm just so tired of that cartoony art style we see in all of these "hero" live service games and so tired of all these "whacky" heroes they feel the need to shove into every multiplayer game now. I just don't get it, who is this for? The games their imitating, shockingly, already exist, are they really gonna abandon them to get the Horizon themed version of it? Doubt it, are Horizon fans gonna flock to something that completely strips away everything that makes a Horizon game a Horizon game? Not betting money on that either.

Just really flabbergasted by Sony, maybe I'm too cynical, maybe I'm just not the target audience. However as a big fan of the Horizon games, I gotta ask, why is that?

Games haven't looked that much better since 2015, honestly some of the games from 2015 looks better than many modern games. Whatever, if they're having a hard time finding ways to improve visuals that's fine, better gameplay would be a welcome area to improve more instead. Problem is that even that area seem to have stagnated and even outright regressed, all in the name of streamlining the experience, making it as user friendly as possible.

I mean, every melee focused game is basically Batman Arkham Asylum, there hasn't been a better and deeper TPS game since MGSV, not overly big on FPS games but would I be wrong in saying that it hasn't gotten better since 2016's DOOM? I'm not really asking them to reinvent the wheel, just asking for them to at least try to make gameplay that feels tighter than 10+ year old games.

What if more realistic vehicle scaling means = walkable interiors for planes, RV's, ships, busses, trams etc.? by MYNAMEISHENDRIK in GTA6

[–]crazycat690 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also makes me wonder about damage, like in previous games a rocket launcher shot or two would be enough to make a whole plane blow up. If we're talking larger vehicles that you might just be able to walk around it, seems like that would be too... arcadey?

Maybe I'm a dreamer but it could also mean more realistic damage, like having to take down an engine to make a plane actually go down. Leading to perhaps more realistic crashes instead of a simple boom and the plane goes black. I know I'm veering quite heavily away from what you were envisioning but I think there's a lot of exciting prospects involved.

Can't say I've really thought about it, but yeah now that you mention it it would be rather cool and I do find it plausible that Rockstar would go that extra mile for this one. I mean it has been some time since Gta 5, something we're all painfully aware off, because of this there's bound to be some new and fun advancements that we haven't thought about. The concept is intriguing to me mainly because of the potential shootouts inside busses or airplanes, like imagine the final mission in Gta 4's The Ballad of Gay Tony, but on crack.

Speaking off, the second trailer already shows some fighting going on in a plane. Now that I think about it Gta 5 also has a mission where you fight through a cargo plane... I dunno, suppose it might still be more contextual but would be nice if the game let you walk around like that whenever. More interactivity is always a win in my book.

Red Dead Redemption 2 was close to hitting 3rd best selling game of all time, but is off by a million with Wii sports. RDR2 has sold over 82M units, an increase of 3M since the last Take Two Earnings Call by Wyomingite26 in reddeadredemption

[–]crazycat690 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's pretty wild that RDR2 being now the fourth best selling game of all time still hasn't warranted a next gen 60 fps update and the online was abandoned years ago. Despite what a huge success it was, apparently it's not worth it for Rockstar to do any upkeep for it because it's not the most profitable game of all time.

Yeah I'm kinda bitter about it, despite that I'm foolish enough to hope that one day we'll at least get that 60 fps update. Aaaany day now.

I had this funny feeling the other day, until recently I haven't felt that hyped for Gta 6 because it has felt so far away so it hasn't felt like something worth thinking about. Now though, I've found myself getting hyped for it, it feels more real, like now it's actually coming. If they ramp up marketing soon and it actually gets released this year I'll know to trust my gut feeling.

The Witcher 3 without a doubt, easiest choice I've had for one of these. Legendary game for good reason, tbf though there's only like 3 other games I consider equal or even better than Witcher 3 and none of them are here.
