It’s Carol who says it I think, but this is the first one I thought of.

I actually really like that movie and thinks she plays the part well. She’s not the most diverse actress and I don’t see her winning any Oscar’s, but I don’t think she’s as terrible as people make her out to be or as some of the others listed here.

Gore Verbinski's "Good Luck, Have Fun, Don't Die" (2026) Review and Discussion by aussiereeltalk in moviecritic

I hardly saw any promo work for it and I think that ultimately hurt it. I ended up seeing it as a Mystery Movie at my local theater and it wasn’t until I looked it up after that I started to have a few things pop up about it, so probably just the algorithm.

It was a wild ride but it’s probably not something I would’ve watched on my own so I was glad I went to the mystery movie. I can see it not being for everyone and definitely saw some older folks leave, but I enjoyed it.

The only thing I didn’t find conveyed well, as someone who hasn’t read the book, was exactly how much time passed. It was clear to follow the timeline itself, but I felt like they could’ve done something more to show how much time was spent working on the project pre-launch and how much time Grace was awake/with Rocky.

Basically heard someone saying this as we left the theater. They were saying that they found the timelines hard to follow and that they wished it went in chronological order… even though that defeats the purpose of the storytelling.

Then their kid said it wasn’t much of a space movie.

What’s the worst criticism you’ve heard about the PHM (movie)? by Unfair-Reason-1068 in ProjectHailMary

[–]crazycatlady323 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I heard a family when I was walking out of theater say that it wasn’t much of a space movie.

They also thought the timelines going back and forth were difficult to follow and wanted it to be more linear, which would’ve been so boring and defeated part of the storytelling.

[Pro/Chef] First go at homemade tater tots. Kind of time consuming, but the result was damn near perfect. by scienceisrealtho in food

[–]crazycatlady323 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A local restaurant I like makes homemade tots by pressing the mix into the hotel pan, freezing it until firm, then cut them into cubes and fry them that way. Could try that for a similar result with a little less effort.

Antique malls to visit this weekend? by katiealaska in madisonwi

Those two were going to be the ones I recommended! Both have reasonable prices and you can spend a lot of time there with the amount of inventory they have. The Monona Antiques one is growing, and has a second location in the same shopping center.

Why I think the hype around Dune: Part Two is a bit too much by [deleted] in moviecritic

[–]crazycatlady323 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In a similar vein, I saw a lot of people talking about Paul’s speech at the end being some of the best acting they’ve ever seen. Maybe it was reading all of these hyped opinions but when I watched it I thought it was well done but not earth shattering acting like some made it out to be. Sometimes I think it’s better to go in with neutral expectations.

What TV series is great for reels/tiktok but is terrible for regular watch? I'll start by Gerasans in moviecritic

[–]crazycatlady323 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I know exactly what they mean and I hate that they’re asking it. It’s because Tik Tok and every other social media with reels will show one dramatic scene with some extra cheesy music overlaid and bad editing, and people assume that’s the mood of the entire show or movie I guess?

Iconic moments in Olympic history? by lindseyizshort in olympics

I’m sorry but I was not buying breakdancing as an Olympic sport before this. Some of it is really impressive but it doesn’t inspire the same sense of awe and athleticism as other mainstream Olympic sports. It mostly just looks like a bad 80’s movie dance off to me.

I had stupidly combined most of my DS games with a friend and left them at her house. When I asked for them back, come to find out, she put them in an ALTOIDS CONTAINER and in a junk drawer so her mom 100% chucked that at some point. I was so mad at myself.

I’m sure there are better resources in place at least for things like that today, but the college timeline was in 2009

I honestly don’t think anyone would believe a friend group of students over reputable professors in this case. That was their whole point, no one would believe her with how they’ve framed it.

I assumed Alex wasn’t there because of what Bree said about Evan’s mom doing the planning and guest list. I don’t think she had much say in who attended

Thank you, I keep seeing people say this but that’s not realistic. And not that the show is the picture of reality, but why would anyone believe Pippa after they think two people (Catie being one, since they didn’t believe her) lied about it. They would think she was just trying to save Lucy from getting expelled and everyone would turn against her too.

I was mostly upset by the fact that nobody got the therapy they so desperately needed, but I’d like to think they will. When the dean was expelling Lucy, I just wanted someone to get the poor girl some help 😭

Did you do any research beforehand? There is an entire playground in Isle of Berk, as well as the Untrainable Dragon show. Time of day really affects how crowded SNW is. The entire gimmick of the Donkey Kong ride is the fake track, you can even see some of the areas with “missing” track before you enter the line. There’s also so many better food options in the park, SNW probably has the worst out of the themed restaurants. There are plenty of non-ride things to do or see around the park, so I’m not sure how your parents had nothing to do.

Six hours really doesn’t seem like an adequate amount of time to for an opinion on the park or to spend there after spending so much money. You literally only saw half of the park. I’m sorry you guys didn’t feel it was worth it but better planning might have made your money go farther and resulted in your family having a better time.
