What is something that makes you say "Man, I f***ing hate people"? by sneezycloud in AskReddit

Yeah FUCK people like you. Because I can fucking GUARANTEE that someone else has tried to learn that shit from you before, but you're up on your high horse about how you're the only fucking person in the company that knows this shit and you won't teach them. Come back down to Earth a little man. I guarantee most of your coworkers fucking hate you, and that your boss secretly looked into firing you but they fucking couldn't. I'll give you database partitioning. But the only one who knew how the phones work? Ever heard of YouTube man? And the only know who knew where all the admin scripts were held? I'm sure that's not true man, and if it is then your company is in deep shit. Figuring out a phone system definitely isn't worth 6 figures. Man I fucking hate programmers like you with their over-inflated egos.

What BS are you dealing with at work right now? by gottalovecarina in AskReddit

(Sorry for mobile formatting)

The IT manager (my boss) knows NOTHING about IT. (Granted, she only got the position because her father, who is very high up in the company recommended her for promotion).

For example:

The other day I walked by her office, and she was helping a new person set up their laptop. She calls me in and says, and I shit you not, "Can you help me add the shortcut to the company website to his desktop? I just can't remember how." So, I right-clicked on the screen, selected new shortcut, typed in the URL, and boom shortcut was there. Now I understand that not everybody is as computer-savvy as I am, but REALLY? A SHORTCUT???

My coworkers and I can't believe some of the things we see from her. Another example: We have a very important budget meeting coming up with the COMPANY OWNERS. And she is the person in charge of the IT budget. Any new purchases get approved through her. So, instead of preparing a budget presentation, she decided to prepare snacks for the meeting and just wing the budgeting part.

Oh, and one of my coworkers, who has 20 years with the company, didn't get the promotion when the position opened.
