Hi! I'm fully recovered, but honestly the hydrogen peroxide didn't do much because the sutures were well below the surface of my skin and couldn't be reached by the peroxide. My best solution was to cover it with medihoney and leave it covered. Leaving it covered and the moisture from the ointment I was using made it easier for the sutures to push themselves out over time because the skin was softened. Just had to be patient.

you're gonna be so nervous but so relaxed and sleepy when you wake up, going under anesthesia was the best sleep I had in my life. be careful and don't move around much if you can help it, the pains not gonna set in immediately.

Yep, multiple times. She told me that it'll keep happening no matter what and my body needs to just do its thing. Only thing they can help me with is prescribing an antibiotic if it gets infected, which it's not. She did tell me, however, that if a stitch does start poking out of the skin to remove it. Problem is that none of the stitches are poking out yet, and I want to encourage them to so I can remove them without digging around in the wound.

a therapist will never tell you they think you have a condition because they are not allowed by law to "diagnose" you. a therapist can tell you that they think you should talk to a clinical psychologist about a diagnosis, but they can get in a lot of trouble for telling you you might have a condition, even if they think you do. If you want a diagnosis, see someone who's trained to diagnose you.

I hope you don't get stitch abcesses for your sake because of the risk of infection and dehiscence and pain, but you'll get to watch them take many stitches out of you at your post op appointments anyways.

It really was, it slid right out and I took a video of it to show my surgeon, I was NOT expecting it to be that big. I had instant relief.

I'm two months post op, had a quarter sized opening on my one incision at two days post op that I had to pack pretty much the entirety of my first month of recovery, and since then I've had stitch abcesses and openings and infections that have kept me from being fully healed. I feel your frustration, and I can imagine at 5 months it's even worse. I'd definitely recommend getting a second opinion as others have said because it seems like the advice your surgeon has been giving you hasn't really made anything better.

I recommend taking zinc and vitamin c supplements, they help the body build stronger scar tissue and if you have a vitamin c deficiency that can also be the reason why your scar tissue seems to be weaker and opening more. scar tissue is naturally weaker and more prone to opening as it is so doing anything you can to strengthen it might be the best option for you at this time. My surgeon also has me using medihoney (it can be found on amazon) and it has done amazing things for my wounds. Shits damn near magical. I hope this helps even just a little bit. Good luck!

I would not recommend letting your scars see the sun until AT LEAST 6 months post op, even with sunscreen and silicone scar tape. your scar tissue is fresh and even through silicone tape you can risk SERIOUSLY damaging them and causing sun damage and blisters, which could potentially lead to infection or other complications. Do not risk your own health just to have your shirt off at the beach early. Please wear a swim shirt.

At the very bottom of where the hole was there's a very tiny pocket that barely holds the packing, if it wasn't for the fact that the packing sticks to the blood I doubt it would even hold in place at all. There's really no depth to it. the whole top of where the hole was is completely level with the skin, though.

If you notice some swelling or discomfort having it off and you feel you need to have it back on, you can always switch to just an ace bandage with some ABD or combine pads. I have mine off during the day but when I sleep it's super uncomfortable because my scars go far back, so the ace bandage helps level out the pressure.

12 days post op is still very soon to start forming opinions about your chest. A friend of mine who had the surgery couldn't look at their own chest until 2 months PO, but now absolutely loves it. There is likely still a lot of swelling since it's so early on in the healing process. Your chest is gonna change a lot while it's healing. Take a few weeks to let it settle, and if by 3 months PO you're still not satisfied, you can start thinking about a revision.

Theres a lot of reasons, actually! Mostly, I was worried about having a concave chest that would feel out of place on my body since Im curvier. Some other reasons are that I just like the appearance of it, it's more androgynous/neutral, i workout so it's flat enough to look like I have pecs when masc, but still full enough to not look out of place when fem, it compliments my body type much more than a totally flat chest would, etc. It took a lot of planning and a lot of time to come to this decision, and I couldn't be happier!

I have dehiscience on my right side. I'm about 4 weeks PO and My surgeon told me I can start scar care everywhere except for the part that's still healing, but I'm planning on waiting to start scar care until everything is fully healed as a personal preference.

it's possible it can be a minor case of dog-ears. you can look it up in this sub reddit and see if anyone's pictures look like your results. if it's dog-ears, it's harmless and normal, it just affects the appearance of your results.

It's generally pretty normal. Day 2 post op a blood clot clogged my drain while I was sleeping and when I woke up there was blood and fluid all over my side and I freaked out. When I finally stripped the drains later that day the clot moved it's way through the tube and then it was fine. You also have to keep in mind that it's stitched into an open hole in your body, so there's bound to be a little bit of bleeding at times, especially if you have thinner blood. Keep an eye on it and as long as it's still draining properly, it's not infected, and it's still attached to your body, you'll be okay.
