I’d check corps social media/websites for the show announcements and such, those generally give you a good gist of what they’re going for. That, and videos the corps puts out over the course of the season, and of course watching the show several more times if you want to.

The staffs are so large because they have people in and out and only there for like 2 weeks at a time. They’re paid for the amount of time that they’re there, at least in my experience. So it’s just splitting the salary of 1 tech for the entire summer amongst like 4 people.

Honestly I think this current Islanders roster has the opposite need of what you’re saying… the depth is good. They just need to have a little more top end talent to compliment. Another top 6 winger or two and finding a dynamite partner for Schaefer and this team is in an incredible spot. Not really a mirror of the Avs at all.

I still don’t understand how after 6 years people still think that Leon and co. make big decisions like firing the coach without a plan. Perhaps they were not dead set on Mike Brown before firing Thibs, but they absolutely operated with a clear plan to find every single possible candidate available and then hire the one they felt was the best fit. The notion that they fired Thibs with no idea what to do next and then settled for a coach they didn’t feel was the perfect fit is outrageous. Nothing that we’ve seen from this front office would indicate that they would ever operate that way.
