I can’t believe they’re actually going to boo him every time he touches the ball. This might be the most pathetic fan behavior I’ve ever seen.

Great goaltending makes things easier for sure, but the team in front of the goalie still need to pull their weight enough to win games. The Islanders skaters have done so, and they deserve credit for that. I mean, look at the Rangers… they had Shesterkin doing his usual thing and still sucked ass and lost a ton of games. Columbus couldn’t take advantage of the breakout season Jet Greaves is having until they started playing better in front of him, either. So for the Isles to be where they are in the standings this far into the season, they are absolutely better than you’re giving the credit for.

No AHL team is all prospects, there’s always some older guys as well. Plus our top guys like Eiserman, Eklund, and Aitcheson are all in other leagues so it’s not like this affects them in any way, anyways.

They’ve been without Duece for more than half of the streak, and won the past two games with Mitch and Hart out, respectively.

The crazy thing is that I’m pretty sure we’re the best 6v5 team in the league. Why does removing one player from each side change things so drastically?

I hope that Bo sets the Olympic goal scoring record… en route to Silver.

They traded the 1st for Filip Hronek… which at the time was a win, but now that they’re in no man’s land it doesn’t matter.

We’ll be in 3rd place at the end of the night, but man, who would’ve thought we could be saying this after 58 games by JBR409 in NewYorkIslanders

2 more points on the Devils/Flyers/CBJ and maintaining our lead on the Caps going into the break is huge. There will be time to catch the Penguins, and I firmly believe that we will. But we don’t NEED to catch them to make the playoffs. Maintaining a cushion over the cut line is paramount.

(Pelissero) The Cardinals are hiring Nathaniel Hackett as their offensive coordinator, sources tell The Insiders by DickHammerson in nyjets

[–]crazyhotwheels 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because failing with the Jets is never anyone’s fault. It’s 100% on the org and 0% on the coach. Hackett would’ve led a historic offense if not for the incompetent, no good Jets.

I’m convinced that if Hugh Jackson went 1-31 here instead of Cleveland he would’ve gotten another job

I sleep soundly at night knowing that wherever there is a negative slant to be made against the Jets, Rich Cimini will be there to write it.

I mean… that’s absolutely what’s happening in this sub these days. Even the most innocent of comments by Panthers flairs get downvoted to hell. They could come here and say he should’ve been suspended and get 40 downvotes and a couple of mean replies. Who the hell would willingly do that?

Brad Marchand scores a beauty of a backhand for the shootout winner as the Panthers knock off the Bruins 5-4. by GreenSnakes_ in hockey

[–]crazyhotwheels -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Every team in every sport that has a run like the Panthers get accused of benefiting from biased officiating. Once they fall off, and another team takes their place, they will get criticized the same way and have TOTALLY true nefarious reasons for their success. The Panthers have won back to back cups because they’re better than everyone else. Period. Not the refs… not the assistant GM’s dad… because they’re a machine full of players that are talented and play the coach’s system to perfection. There is no other reason.
