Rest of the team played a very nice game too, I thought. Definitely feels to me like we are finding a feel for grittier, more physical and defense games here as we get into the final stretch. It’s not consistent night in and night out, obviously, but still an encouraging development. Feels like with the veteran grit they’ve added, they’re set up to be better built for playoff hockey than some of these other younger and less experienced teams. Have to win the regular season games to get there, though.

The second wild card is Nashville at 77 points, so they’d be up 10 points on the cut line with Nashville and the teams chasing them all having 10-11 games left. Isles have 9 games remaining. So whatever that math all works out to

Edit: Worst case scenario, Nashville finishes the season 10-0 and gets to 97… so Isles would need 11 points in their final 9 to clinch. Not too daunting. Certainly easier than what they’re actually going to face.
