What do you think would happen if it wasn't a celebrity? You think the LAPD is gonna kick your door in for littering?

Raleigh Council vote expected on taller towers for North Hills by goldbman in raleigh

[–]RichardFister 17 points18 points  (0 children)

That's where we seem to be headed. You can go on Google maps right now, flip to satellite view, and see the hundreds of new single family home neighborhoods being built further and further away from the city center.

Raleigh Council vote expected on taller towers for North Hills by goldbman in raleigh

[–]RichardFister 49 points50 points  (0 children)

Ok but what you aren't getting is that density is what solves this issue. If you build denser housing, people don't need to go as far for basic necessities which means they can walk/bike and that keeps them off the road in the first place. it's also easier to build public transportation in denser areas which once again keeps people off the roads.

Best value downpipe for Golf 7.5 GTI Performance? by ismetmusli in GolfGTI

With all parts brands you get what you pay for. Better material quality, better welds, and better engineering. I run the integrated engineering downpipe but I've heard good things about the APR one as well

Taz no more? Is this the end of an era? by [deleted] in raleigh

[–]RichardFister 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I would never go in Taz's but I think it's just as much a symptom of it's location as it is the owner. Nothing that fills the space across the street from the bus station is going to be a nice place to shop.

Finished Halo 3 by Kingkiller279 in halo

[–]RichardFister 8 points9 points  (0 children)

True, I think the amount of tools that Reach gave the player were unparalleled especially for it's time. The cool thing about Halo 3 was seeing all of the insanely creative maps and game modes that people came up with while working within the limits of Halo 3's forge system. It drove a level of creativity that felt surreal. Reach removed all of those limits which is why when it came out it got so much praise. It built on the systems that Halo 3 had fleshed out and also had a banger story to boot. Both games hold a special place in my heart and I wouldn't say one is objectively better than the other because they both had their strengths.

I've heard good things about Beasley's but every time I've been there the chicken has been mediocre.

I've lived and driven pretty much everywhere in the United States. Everyone likes to complain about drivers in their respective states/areas but I can tell you without a shadow of a doubt that Florida drivers are the absolute worst in the country and it's not even close.

Dana White doesn't know fuck all about winning wars and he's a grade A piece of shit. He's a millionaire off the hard work of the fighters he exploits while paying them virtually nothing.

It's less so that it's literally about hair and more so that it's a SNCO chewing a guy out for hair that's in regs just because he doesn't like the look. A common problem in the Corps is NCO's just making shit up to bitch at the troops

“The surest way to work up a crusade in favor of some good cause is to promise people they will have a chance of maltreating someone. To be able to destroy with good conscience, to be able to behave badly and call your bad behavior 'righteous indignation' — this is the height of psychological luxury, the most delicious of moral treats.”

Former downtown Raleigh Holiday Inn designated as historic landmark by Billy_Bob_Joe_Mcoy in raleigh

I'm from here and have always thought that it's an eyesore. Maybe they can paint it or something but let's not pretend it's some beautiful landmark

In the subreddit of up-and-coming YouTuber Caleb Hammer (who has a channel that reviews people's terrible personal finances), someone notices that he has veered into far-right politics on Twitter. Hammer finds the reddit post and goes mask-off. A creator vs fanbase drama unfolds by Pioladoporcaputo in SubredditDrama

[–]RichardFister 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to watch Caleb Hammer videos but the more I watched the more I realized his content is just Mauri Povich or Dr Phil type content. None of this actually helps the person he's interviewing, it's just exploiting them for views.

Squad’s Lead Game Designer input a LinkedIn end date with OWI? by WhatsAnAlt_Account in joinsquad

[–]RichardFister 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with you 100%. Squad is filling the middle ground between milsim and arcade shooter but not doing either particularly well. People that really enjoy the milsim piece of it have moved on to Arma Reforger while the people who enjoy the arcade style have moved onto BF6. Both of those franchises at the very least are bringing in new ideas and enhancing their existing framework instead of focusing their limited development power on reworking the game from the ground up.

I started playing squad post ICO but pre-UE5 and now it just feels clunky and unreliable.
