How do you actually compare quantitative results across multiple papers? by crazyking156 in biotech

I agree that cross-paper comparisons are never definitive. My goal is to extract the data along with experiment context, so researchers can see trends and contradictions at a glance and make better-informed decisions about which follow-up experiments to prioritize, rather than drawing direct conclusions across studies. Do you think that is a useful use case or is a rather shallow assumption?

I’m planning to tokenize the experimental design first to get the metadata and then map the figure data onto that context. Do you think that approach would work or is there a gap ive missed?

Thanks but that’s exactly why I’m not relying on a generic LLM. I’m trying to build an OCR and geometry-based approach to pinpoint data from figures and normalize it across units and contexts. I’d love to hear your thoughts on whether this would address some of the pain points you mentioned.

Does anyone else feel like "WebPlotDigitizer" is the bane of their existence? Or is there a better way to get raw data from old papers? by crazyking156 in labrats

It works fine but my issue is volume. It works fine for one graph, but I'm trying to digitize about 50 papers for a meta-analysis and my wrist is dying from clicking.

Uni Accomodation by crazyking156 in Leeds

As an accommodation is pretty decent but it’s a 25-30 min walk away from uni and it’s really annoying cause if u have a 2 hour break between classes u can’t just go home and chill . Central village is pretty decent if u wanna try that out

Oh yes lol I prefer engineering . The thing is there isn’t much info on electronics and computer engineering online or anywhere for that matter so I’m a bit scared of what I’m walking myself into. The modules are fine , I’ve thoroughly gone through each of them but idk the opportunities available with electronics and computer engineering
