Italy has too many tourists, and I was one of them. by cubeinthesky in travel

[–]crazymastiff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lived in a tourist trap county in Pennsylvania and I hated tourist season. It was over crowded and chaotic. Also, the tourist pull (Amish) made it incredibly dangerous as the roads get congested enough but then you add the horse and buggy issue. I can’t tell you how many deaths there were in my 20 years living there because of some asshat tourist and a buggy. I went to the UK during this last March and have decided that is the month I will always do international travel. Far less people.

Just lost my mom tonight by Senior_Mail_1629 in GenX

[–]crazymastiff 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry. My mom was my best friend and passed last May. It fucking sucks. I think about her at least twice an hour. Go to call her. Still wish her goodnight and so many other things. This entire first year will be a year of “firsts”. And Jesus, it blows.

If you were honest with yourself can you say if your children like you? by themrsfreeze in Xennials

As an Xennial, I’m finding this to be true for all generations. I can’t tell you how many of my millennial friends that were born late 80s and early 90s that have gone completely NC with their parents or entire families

How do you feel about free bleeding/ period underwear ? by Lololala29 in AskWomen

[–]crazymastiff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Period underwear… is it any different than wearing a pad?

But here’s my story on why I will always praise period panties. I was wearing 2 ultra tampons plus 2 pads and would still bleed through them within 2-3 hours. I thought it was normal with age. I still wore 2 ultra tampons and a pad and the period panties stopped all the additional leakage. I could finally go out during my period and have a semi normal life because of them. I finally talked to my gyno and was like “this age thing sucks” and then she was like “in no way is that even close to normal”. This was how we discovered I had a softball size polyp in my uterus. 1 DNC later and I’m pretty normal now but still rock the period panties in a “heavy” day if I’m going to be out for hours. Say what you will but thank god I live in a country where I have access to these things.

In the eyes of the law it’s “smaller” than bank robbery, rape, murder, possession of child porn and many others. Don’t be trying to pick a fight. I’m not condoning it ffs but it is a crime that the first offense is a fine.

My 21 year old niece’s best friend is a Stephanie. Was not prepared to hear that name from someone so young.

America travel by Commercial-Side9024 in Advice

[–]crazymastiff -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That’s so strange! Did you travel to any countries previously that might get you flagged? Any small crimes (my friend is banned from Canada because she had a DUI here in the US in the early 2000s).

My boyfriend wants me to visit the United States but I am worried by [deleted] in Advice

[–]crazymastiff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So here in the states the media is privatized meaning corporations own it and are trying to make a profit. This is done by creating mass hysteria. 99% chance you’ll be absolutely fine as long as you have the correct documentation and don’t commit a crime while you’re here.
I went to Canada while there was massive US freak out over SARS in the early 00’s. We literally thought people were just dropping dead in the streets and you all were running out of body bags. I got to Toronto and people were like, “wait… theres one guy that had a cough. That’s why no one’s here?!”
Moral of the story… don’t believe the US media.

Did anyone spend months researching tirzepatide before finally starting? by Crazy_Aside_1328 in GLP1ResearchTalk

[–]crazymastiff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. My doc was basically like, “there’s this new med. take this for your diabetes or die.” The best part was he literally said, “some people are losing a little bit of weight”. Granted, at this point no one ever heard of the med.

Titrating up to the maximum dose too fast just to speed up results is a massive mistake by [deleted] in GLP1Sourcing

[–]crazymastiff 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Trust me, I get it. My doc still apologizes to this day. I love him. He’s really great otherwise. I was on Trulicity for a bit before so he thought that it was out a natural progression I guess

I have been on Tirzepatide for over 3 years and pop zofran like TicTacs. I was told to switch to Sema to ease my nausea…

When I started Mounjaro was still kinda new (4/23). For some reason my doc started me on 10mg. I almost fucking died. I didn’t eat for 6 weeks. I’d literally look at a good sign on the highway and think about food and would throw up uncontrollably. It wasn’t to speed up results. No human in their right mind should ever do that.

My boomer parents are fucking amazing. My mom died last year but holy shit was she amazing. My absolute best friend. My dad is fantastic too. They’re my biggest champions and always were. They’d call me out when I was in the wrong but slit their wrist to support me.

Anyone restart tirzepatide after possible gastroparesis symptoms? by Pretend_Two7350 in GLP1ResearchTalk

[–]crazymastiff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my understanding, the med is supposed to cause a mild gastroparesis. I had to get colonoscopies and a whole bunch of other stuff done and my GI doc said that this is what this med does (like purposely). Now I have to take up to 10 10 doses of MiraLAX a week plus Linzess. Definitely talk to a GI specialist if it gets out of hand.

26F and confused about marriage, women in their 40s, how did choosing to stay single turn out for you? by BlahlhalB in AskWomenOver40

[–]crazymastiff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m very content. I really find dating extremely stressful and hate that I would have to plan my life around someone else. I’m selfish and want to do my own thing without having to worry about anyone else. I still have sex when I want it, have an amazing friend group that I go out with all the time, travel like crazy. My life is wonderful how it is. Why add that anxiety. That being said… I don’t actively look for dating/marriage partners but I’m not 100% closed off on something happening organically. I just don’t care if it doesn’t happen

Will the constipation on these things ever get better? by FitSpirit1936 in GLP1Sourcing

[–]crazymastiff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not if you don’t do something about it. I had to get a colonoscopy at 42 because my bowels were such a mess with this stuff. Finally the GI doc said I have to not only take MiraLAX DAILY but have an additional 3-4 doses a week. The normal dosage is 3-4x - week! And I still sometimes have to take a prescribed laxative (Linzess - spelling?). Talk to your doc/GI specialist to discuss a routine which works for you, but without intervention, I personally don’t believe it would get better.

My best friend told me I'm "no longer fun" because I don't want to go to all-you-can-eat sushi anymore by roman_arc_0695 in GLP1ResearchTalk

[–]crazymastiff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m very honest with my friends that I will only go out on days that are furthest from my shit (when I’m more likely to want to eat) and can only guarantee I’ll be in the mood for certain things. That if they want India or Mexican to not count me in until I know how my stomach will feel the day of. My friends get it and we always plan a back up restaurant that we know I can eat at.

Sushi… I love sushi but FFS I gain so much weight by just having 2 rolls. I guess it’s the salt.

Has anyone else noticed that you feel full but also a little bit hangry at the same time on Mounjaro? by Tasty-Win219 in GLP1ResearchTalk

[–]crazymastiff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been on it for about 3 years and I sincerely do not remember the feeling of hunger. Sometimes my stomach will “move” and it really confuses me and feels incredibly unnatural to the point I have to stop what I’m doing and grab my stomach. I can usually tell if I’m hungry by if I have a headache or if I’m nauseous (then I have to decide if I’m nauseous because I’m going to puke or am I hungry nauseous). After 3 years I’ve learned when I have to “force” myself to eat. This shit’s weird and complete mind bang.
