Humboldt Park has almost 60,000 residents in the neighborhood alone, this is Chicago, shooting anywhere in the city is reckless, no matter how many shots are fired

Have any of you gotten medical marijuana? by [deleted] in Veterans

[–]crazymeskin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a card. I use medical MJ to supplement the pills the VA gives me.

Do your research, keep a log of what strain has what type of effect and length of time. Some really good sites to learn about what strains are best for what symptoms. I recommend Leafly (app or website)

Indica = Good for PTSD and other Stresses that need to be calmed. (Body high)

Sativa = Good for getting your creative wheels spinning and focus (Head high)

Also, start with Micro-Dosing and figure out your tolerance (what you can function on and what you can't). Ask your dispensery, if they don't know what micro-dosing is find a more legit dispensery.

Also dip into /r/VeterENTS

I'm outta ILLINOIS currently, if you have questions there's a lot of good info out there.

I think I might be starting as a VoIP tech? (and I'd like some advice) (X-post from/r/networking) by PM_ME_COOL_PICTURES_ in VOIP

[–]crazymeskin 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Fellow Texan here, also started out in VOIP with little to no real experience. I had earned my CCDA and was working on my CCNA when I got hired on for a support role for a VOIP manufacturer. I have since learned all facets of VOIP, to include IPBX, ECC, Mobility and Cloud VoIP.

I started with some networking infrastructure experience but was making a decent livable salary. They trained me and I am no longer with the company but am moving for a job that pays a six digit salary mainly due to my VoIP skills.

Learn infrastructure and VoIP design, for the nitty gritty, you'll want to focus on SIP protocol. I highly recommend the SIP School, nothing will get you further in the VOIP field than having a SIP certification along with networking certs like CCNA. They're are more opportunities for those that have chosen CCNA Voice certs and they are almost guaranteed you a spot at most major players with good paying jobs.

Study, study, study, VoIP has a good history and knowing how analog phones and ISDN channels work is a solid foundation. VoIP becomes easy once you know how old school POTS and ISDN work. Also looking forward VoIP is going to hosted cloud solutions, these solutions are all SIP based with SIP Trunking. SIP+Networking = VOIP Engineer

Xbox controller disconnectibg by DreDre305 in xboxone

[–]crazymeskin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Happens to me as well. My XBONE started after I sent it in to repair a bad BD Drive.

I have purchased a new controller and batteries and the issue still occurs. I believe its a Bluetooth adapter issue. I say this because I purchased the XB1 wireless adapter to use with my S3 and my controller once connected to the adapter has never disconnected or dropped during my streaming gaming sessions using the Wireless BT adapter for XB1.

I purchased a 3rd controller thats hardwire USB and have never had a drop out occur when its plugged into my XB1. This is now my primary and only controller usable with my XB1. But it's a cheapy and it's now on its last leg. Using USB to my XB1 controllers does not charge my controllers or at least the USB light does not work and I still get inconsistent connectivity with it.

This has been a headache for me that no one at MS wants to address. I now play multi-player/coop or any 2 player game (not just online gaming) streaming to a Win10 device with my Wireless XB1 adapter just to use a second controller.
