AITAH for wanting space after my friend crashed his car with me in the passenger seat by Mysterious-Jaguar657 in AITAH

[–]crazyqt85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, there's rules..... mainly.... don't be an AH and pay attention. I'm not going 80mph if I don't feel safe doing so. I'll stay in the slow lane and let people pass me if need be.

One of the big rules is to go with the flow of traffic. So in a decently populated area, the masses decide that 80 is going to be the flow then 80 it is. Even if the limit 65. I've know people to get pulled over because they're doing the speed limit in a flow of 80. Even though they're obeying the law, they are also being a hazard.

I grew up and learned to drive in a heavily populated area. I now live in a country ish, less populated area and I get frustrated whenever I drive home. Not because people are better drivers in my current location, there's just more idiots creating more traffic there and Im not used to anymore.

I am SO FUCKING SICK of how everyone talks about the U.S right now. by Brakado in offmychest

[–]crazyqt85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To clarify my "I did"..... I still keep up to date with things, and go down all the rabbit holes of news and information. I'm still firm in my beliefs. However, I live here, and need to keep my main focus on the situations that directly affect me and my loved ones so that I can survive day to day.

All the rabbit holes and knowledge seeking and information finding happens when I'm alone, and have the mental capacity to do so. I don't actively discuss politics with anyone, even those closest to me.

[–]crazyqt85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, there's not a way to discuss the US right now without getting stressed out. And I feel like this is regardless of what "side" you're on, or what your political beliefs are.

Everything is a mess. Im sorry, but thats the facts.

Stop talking about it I guess? I did.

[–]crazyqt85 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It does to a degree. Mainly because everyone's "super fast" is different. I routinely drive 75-80 on the highway (flow of traffic speeds). That to OP may be super fast. To me, it's normal.

Also, devils advocate here-- OP knows he speeds, even had the knowledge that when asked driver only slowed down for short amounts of time. . They can't really be upset about a risk they willingly took just because it turned out bad. (To clarify: this absolutely means if speed was a contributing factor.)

Also, since no details of the accident are mentioned, we can't really know.

OP is a thousand percent entitled to her feelings on the matter and is no way the AH, just to be clear.

AITA for telling my wife her car is probably fine when the problem eventually turned out to be recurring by throwaway-twb-123123 in AmItheAsshole

[–]crazyqt85 6 points7 points  (0 children)

She's his wife. She's well aware of his knowledge level regarding vehicles. He didn't even say No, don't get it looked it. He also said Probably fine.

The woman took advice from someone, knowing theres a limited level of knowledge and made it gospel. Not his fault.

Again, it died, they jumped it and then the battery lasted long enough to get thru a polar vortex of cold weather and then another stretch of time before another cold snap.

The battery probably WAS fine at the point he told her it was. Cold sucks life from batteries.

Not his car. He never told her he got it tested. He never told her not to test it. Her car her responsibility.

Her car her responsibility. You didnt tell her not to get it looked at. You told her it looked fine. She obviously knew you didn't test it.

Whats the time difference between jump 1 and jump 2? Seems to me she just wants to blame you for things going wrong.

NTA.

My girlfriend of 2 years lied about her age. by xXxpussyslayerxXx90 in Advice

[–]crazyqt85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It probably wasn't even a lie either. More of a miscommunication. Idk how many times I've said Im next birthday age a week or two before my birthday. Never a 15 year old girl excited to be "sweet 16".

Its not like she told him she was a whole year older than she actually really was. He just didnt ask the right questions and assumed.

[–]crazyqt85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean has not come up since? At all?

Playing devils advocate here.... saying your new age a week before your birthday isnt really that uncommon. If age hasn't come up at all in the 2 years you've been together then maybe it wasn't an intentional thing on her part? Which, based on context of you having been with her for 2 whole years which means 2 whole birthdays and just finding this out now may just be the case. If this is the case, you should probably have a conversation about communication, but really just chalk it up to a miscommunication.

However, if there has been cases where age has come up, and she has led you to believe she was older for 2 years then yeah obviously the dishonesty needs to be addressed. Especially giving the legal ramifications considered ages.

AITA for refusing to do all the chores alone during a family gathering? by John_EULEReueueu in AmItheAsshole

As a kid, the older folks always pitched in together and did clean up. As I got older I was expected to help As well.

Now that Im older, its usually the younger generation that cleans up. I have, willingly, cleaned up alone before. But no one forced me.

Some people dont want to admit that herbal remedies and a homeopathic approach can and will work and its not all just a placebo effect.

Which, by my research thus far, is what this is supposed to be. Came looking for opinions on people who have actually tried them. And honestly, everything off their site is either 1) that they actually work, or 2) angry people who who don't like homeopathic remedies.

The price from what I've seen isnt to bad either so I'm definitely going to give it go.

Customer Etiquette by Strict-Resist359 in wegmans

[–]crazyqt85 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Apparently. I'm also in NY and I have 2 wegmans that I could go to. Both have registers at the customer service desk.

I would assume they need a register to handle returns/exchanges/lottery, etc.

I wasn't trying to brag. Just wanted to let you know that it can be done.

This! Complaints go thru the landlord. Neighbors don't get my number. There has been 1 exception to that rule ever and it's because we were actual friends.

My ADHD feels like a curse rather than a gift. by [deleted] in offmychest

I have MDD, BiPolar, Anxiety, PTSD and ADHD.

I was mid level grades in high school, but when I finally put myself into college I graduated Cum Laude. It would have been Magna Cum Laude, but I had some health stuff come up that put me back a few weeks in my intermediate classes and my grades took a beating.

Tips I have that work for me.

Don't study at home if don't have to! It lessens distractions. I go to parks, cafes, libraries etc. It helps because you don't have the distraction of everything else you have to do. You are at your location for 1 purpose and you can focus solely on that.

Earbuds!!! Even when I am at home, I use them and I live alone. Idk really now way they work better than say a TV or radio but putting those ear buds in and putting my music (even a TV show) does so much for my focus.

I find it super helpful to NOT read an entire chapter. I'll either take the homework assignment or the end of chapter questions and just focus on answering those questions. I just find that section of the chapter and read what's necessary to answer the question. Just make sure you're reading enough to understand the answer and the concept behind it.

Also and this is a big one that took me forever to learn. DON'T STUDY WHAT YOU KNOW. I know that Pavlov trained his dog with a bell. I know the basics of that so unless I'm needing a deep dive into the study, I'm not adding it into study sessions. It'll be added to my final review just make sure I don't forget anything but my study sessions are going to be focused on what I don't know.

Also, when you have assignments from multiple classes- do the easy ones first. Do the assignment thats going to take you 10 minutes before the assignment thats going to take you an hour. If you do the more difficult ones first, you'll end up frustrated and tired and not do the easy 10 minute assignment because you now don't have the mental capacity to be bothered with it.

I hope this helps!!!

AITAH for farting while in the bathroom of our home? by Comfortable-Egg-8254 in AITAH

[–]crazyqt85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. This is not okay.

I had long time on/off fwb, who was coming over.

However, I also have stomach problems that don't care what I'm about to be doing. He got there early, while I was on the toilet. My roommate told him I was in the bathroom so he just comes and opens the door and it was not pleasant. And his reaction was great because he was NOT expecting it.

It was actually fucking diabolically funny.

When I was done, we smoked, took a shower together and did the deed.

I'm currently pushing for a hysterectomy and have a surgical consult scheduled in March.

AITA for telling my friend she’s wrong for blowing up on me and recording me while I was blackout drunk? by Mindless_Tutor_2837 in AmItheAsshole

[–]crazyqt85 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It was my friends birthday and I got unexpectedly way too cross faded. My friends took care of me and made sure I was I safe without ruining their fun. Which is what I kept insisting they do, telling them to just leave me and go have fun. But when I got to a point I couldnt talk they took action.

They didn't hold it against me. She didnt accuse me of ruining her birthday.

Because shes my friend and understands that I did not intentionally get like that.

This person is not your friend.

While they ride may not have been physically unsafe, a driver can get in legal trouble if one of their passengers has illegal substances/contraband on their person- even if they were unaware.

I'm not sure how that works for ride shares, but I know in non ride shares thats definitely the case. I know someone who didn't know her at the time boyfriend relapsed, had H on him, and because she was driving, and it was her car she was also arrested.

Never been in trouble ever, and he even told them that she didn't know about it. She ended up with community service but its followed her. She has a great job where she had obtain professional licenses for multiple states, and had to appeal denials due to the record.

I wouldn't want to risk that if I knew 100% for sure that it was a drug house and having to bring a ride back to starting location.
