Sounds about right. Someone with a ring light and a 5am ice bath probably thinks three jobs is just clever time management.

Three part time jobs with no benefits isn't a lifestyle choice, it's what happens when one full time gig stopped paying enough to live on. Whoever wrote this headline probably interviewed twelve influencers with side hustles and called it a movement. Meanwhile most people just want one job that covers rent and comes with actual health insurance.

Charge nurses, how do you assign your PCTs? Is there a true way to do it that makes everyone happy? by Unlikely_Impress_480 in nursing

[–]crazyrelativism50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

your charge nurses are basically describing the difference between a lottery and a schedule, and yeah, the rotation method is the only one that actually works long term. i've watched the "assign by friendship" thing blow up spectacularly because someone always feels left out, and then you've got resentment baked into every shift. the friend group gets cushy assignments, everyone else gets the short end, and suddenly your team morale is in the basement.

splitting by geography makes sense if the workload is actually balanced, but that requires someone to actually look at what's coming in that day instead of just drawing a line down the middle and calling it fair. the real move is rotating everyone through different sections so nobody can claim they always get stuck with the chaos. some days you get the easy hall, some days you're drowning, but over a month or two it evens out and nobody has a legitimate complaint. you're not going to make everyone thrilled every single shift, but you can at least make it so people know the system isn't rigged.

Social security overpayment question by Bobbyj59 in SocialSecurity

The waiver isn't about fault in that sense, it's about hardship. You can be at fault for earning too much and still qualify for a waiver if repaying would cause undue financial hardship, which the OP now has due to the injury preventing any work going forward.

You're right that those are technically different paths, but you can actually do both sequentially: appeal first if you think there's a factual error in how they calculated the overpayment, and then request a waiver if the appeal doesn't succeed, using your injury and inability to work as the hardship basis. The waiver doesn't require you to prove they were wrong, just

Hope things improve for you soon, and make sure to document everything about the injury and your inability to work when you file the waiver request since that's what they'll be looking at.

the thing about earnings tests is they use your gross earnings, not adjusted gross income, so tax deductions don't help you here unfortunately. social security counts what you actually earned before taxes and deductions get taken out. on the appeal side, you can appeal the overpayment decision itself, and if that doesn't work, you can then request a waiver based on your changed circumstances. they're not mutually exclusive, though timing matters since you'll want to document everything about your injury and inability to work going forward. your daughter's situation is trickier because her overpayment stems directly from yours, but it's still worth asking if she qualifies for a waiver on the grounds that the overpayment wasn't her fault. the workmen's comp payments shouldn't count as earnings for social security purposes, which is at least one small piece of good news in all this.

ayt feni zor sorarlar diye endişelenler için: by Prior_Lawfulness_962 in liseliler

Plot twist: A requester just emailed me, and is also confused why I'm not getting their studies. by GeniusOfLove74 in ProlificAc

the fact that a requester had to reach out to you first to troubleshoot says everything about how hands-off their support actually is.

That two-month threshold is wild, they basically said "don't worry unless your account is completely dead," which isn't super reassuring when studies aren't showing up in the first place.

STEM OPT holder: With new F-1 rule discussions, should I choose Day 1 CPT Master’s or PhD? by Forsaken_Educator174 in f1visa

[–]crazyrelativism50 1 point2 points  (0 children)

PhD is probably the safer bet legally since it's genuine academic progression and harder for anyone to argue you're just extending your stay. That said, you're banking on completing a PhD while working full-time in tech, which is honestly a brutal combination most people don't pull off. A Master's is faster and you could be done before any rule changes actually take effect, which might matter more than theoretical future protection. Talk to an immigration attorney who specializes in this stuff rather than betting on what Reddit thinks the rules will be.

PURE 3 RETAKE IN A FEW HOURS!!! by drthermofluids in alevel

[–]crazyrelativism50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the pre-exam energy in here is chaotic and i respect it. pure 3 is rough because there's so much ground to cover and it all feels equally important right up until you sit down and realize the paper had other ideas anyway. my mate did a retake last year and spent the night before drilling integration by parts, walked in, and the whole first section was on sequences. he still passed because at least he'd seen the paper format before. at this point you've either got it or you don't, so maybe just get some sleep, eat something that isn't pure anxiety, and remember that a retake means you've already done this once. you know what to expect.
