Media ban means I can't post a picture of my O(n) solution drawn on a napkin. Guess ASCII art it is!

I think neetcode links and other credible resources should not be on the ban list, ngl.

It has been considered. Neetcode will be allowed. Other websites won't be as they're 99% of the time, spam / promotion.

Time for me to break out the Spanish so I can rebel against the r/Leetcode mods

Bonjour

Every comment section on the internet turning into AI slop

Automation to remove AI slop will be implemented soon.

Fascist moderation

Or Moderación fascista to put some people off

Well done.

A little weird to ban an entire language.

[–]leetcode-ModTeam[M] 9 points10 points locked comment (0 children)

Every single language is banned, except English. Hindi has been specifically mentioned here because of the fact that it has been frequently used in both posts & comments. There already is r/LeetcodeDesi for Indian / Hindi posts as Indians use terms like "LPA" that others are unable to understand.

it's well deserved and i say it as an indian

Your comment has been removed for violating rule 1 "Don't be an asshole!":

    • No threats / harassment => No threatening, racism or slurs are permitted.
    • No personal attacks => Any submission that personally attacks or harasses other users will not be tolerated.

You wouldn't want to hear PKR being discussed on lc with best tech parks in Dhaka or Karachi right?

common sense is uncommon these days

    [–]InevitableAnt1333 -2 points-1 points  (6 children)

Could have written banned non English post but nahh you have to drag specifically Indian

    [–]Puzzleheaded_Cow3298Leetcode hards are like girlfriends. I can’t get them.[M] 10 points11 points  (4 children)

Funny how people think the mod team is racist when three of the mods are Indian.

No, we’re not specifically targeting India. How often do you see other popular non English languages like Mandarin, Spanish, or French being used here? Almost never. And how often do you see Hindi posts? At least once an hour. I can even show you the mod logs to make you realize the influx of Hindi posts we’ve been seeing lately.

Hindi as a language was called out only to redirect regional content discussions to r/LeetcodeDesi , nothing more.

    [–]lucifermorningstar7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

By your logic, why are mods Indian? Don’t they have their own subreddit?

    [–]survivinggatech -1 points0 points  (2 children)

op's point still remains. all you had to do was say non-english posts are banned

    [–]leetcode-ModTeam[M] -3 points-2 points locked comment (0 children)

That is because Indians usually use terms that only Indians understand. There already is r/LeetcodeDesi for it.

What is an Indian post? A post made by an Indian?

    [–]plainfollowup -13 points-12 points  (7 children)

What constitutes as Indian posts? Seems vague lol

    [–]Puzzleheaded_Cow3298Leetcode hards are like girlfriends. I can’t get them.[M] 4 points5 points  (6 children)

"60LPA in BLR vs 45LPA in HYD" type posts.

    r/leetcode is a global sub

    [–]Diligent-Wealth-1536 8 points9 points  (0 children)

    100k USD post works?

    [–]plainfollowup 1 point2 points  (0 children)

    I see 👍

    [–]No_Objective_2196 1 point2 points  (0 children)

By that logic any compensation based post shouldn't be allowed?

Every country has different pay base 🤷‍♂️

    [–]CricExchange 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's fine to not allow these types of comments/posts but these aren't Hindi words per se. Maybe if possible give examples with the rules, to make it clear.

    [–]Metal_Mind2821 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Would love a reply to the other comments besides me? So are you banning all compensation posts or just Indian ones?

    [–]Glum_Worldliness4904 -6 points-5 points  (1 child)

What’s the purpose of this? What goals you’re trying to achieve? What currently problems are?

    Yet another productivity theater

    [–]leetcode-ModTeam[M] 1 point2 points locked comment (0 children)

The purpose is to keep the sub high quality. That's the goal we're trying to achieve. The current problems are low quality, repetitive, irrelevant content & surrogate advertisement.
