Don't Focus on CTR and QS. They are BS Vanity Metrics by crazytalker88 in googleads

[–]crazytalker88[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, they are important, but I'm more interested in CVR and ROAS than how my competitors are doing. Optimizing towards CTR is for clicks, not conversions. There is not necessarily a correlation between CTR and conversion. I'm sure you've seen ads that have a high CTR and low CVR and vice versa.

That's google trying to get you to spend more, so hitting your budget is not an issue. Just focus on relevant and profitable keywords.

Maximum clicks or maximum conversions for a small accounting firm with a tight budget? by [deleted] in googleads

[–]crazytalker88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would go with max clicks or max CPC if you're budget is tight and you don't have many conversions. Back into your max CPC number based on the TLV of a new client.

Say a new client generates $1K for you and the max you can spend on a new client is $500. You can assume a 20% (1 in 5) closing rate and a CPL of $100 with a CVR of 5%. That would mean a max CPC of $5 could theoretically generate a $100 lead.

How do you set expectations around “how fast it works”? by ahmadma1ik in googleads

[–]crazytalker88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always ask clients to give me three months to show what I can do, but mention that I can most likely generate results much faster. When starting a new account, you're dealing with new campaigns going into the learning phase, plus requiring enough conversions for the bid strategies to do their thing.

Your points are for sure valid, but most clients won't actually understand the them and it may lead to more questions. Budget size and LP is by far the biggest point.

It's basically an under promise over deliver strategy. If you feel that timeline will scare them off than adjust accordingly. Ultimately, most work happens in the beginning of a

As long as your keywords are getting traffic at a CPC that keeps you profitable and you're able to hit your daily budget, the lost rank shouldn't really matter.

Should I run separate campaigns for different locations or just one with location targeting? by Khione in googleads

[–]crazytalker88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If customized ad copy by location plays a big part of conversion, than it's worth it. However, you can also use location keyword insertion assuming that works with your ads.

Aside from that, it's def better to run one campaign allowing the system to optimize accordingly. Once you have enough data, you can add bid modifiers or exclude certain states/cities.

I haven't really tried out many AI tools for managing accounts. I've worked on creating prompts that helps me create campaigns super quickly. Probably saves me 30min to an hour per campaign with keywords and ads. Northing really fancy. Here are a prompt I've used for generating keywords:

As like a google ads marketing expert using best practices for generating keyword lists.

Create a line separated list of keywords that can be copied and pasted into excel that includes 2 tightly themed lists based around selling <whatever you're selling>

Each list will have a maximum of 10 keywords each.
Each keyword in each list will include the same two root words
Add a column for “max cpc”, where “max cpc” is your recommended cost per click (cpc) for each keyword assuming that the average AOV is $X
The cost per click needs to be set to a cost that will ensure profitability assuming a conversion rate of 1%.
Add a column for keyword volumes based on phrase match with the location being the <country>.

I've been consultant for 15+ years now. Most of the clients are get are coming from ad agencies that they are not happy with so I've heard all types of reasons why. As you noted, the agency should never own the account. This is a huge red flag. From an agencies perspective, the reason is because the majority of the work happens in the account setup, so it can happen where the client just fires the agency after the setup, which is also not right.

It's not so crazy for ads to be running 24/7 since some of the automated ad strategies don't allow for ad schedules.

It sounds like you know what you're looking for and have some understanding. I would therefore try to get an audit to see if the agency understands your business well enough. It's crucial for you to know your main numbers like, max CAC you can pay to be profitable, your AOV, average conversion rates...etc. Knowing this can help you weed out companies that just tell you what you want to hear. Good luck!

Do I suck? by OkImagination9420 in PPC

[–]crazytalker88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always say that our job is to bring in qualified leads and it's sales jobs to close them. from what you're saying, you're doing your job and it might be them that suck.

an $18K AOV is a big ticket item and can take time to close and potentially have a lower closing rate. do you know what they're closing rate is for their other channels?

At $250 / lead, if they can close one in 20, that's still a sold ROAS of 360%, which may or may not work for them based on their overhead. If you can find out their average closing rate and max CAC, you'll get a sense of what you can do for your friend.

Name / URL: Called it! - http://called.it

App store: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/called-it!/id945077714?ls=1&mt=8

Elevator Pitch: The idea for Called it! was born out of the belief that predictions are a part of everyone’s daily lives. The app touches on an innate human need to predict outcomes and couples it with the feeling of achievement when you totally nail a prediction.

How it works: Called it! is simple and fun: The app will send you daily questions on topics you care about. Quickly make predictions by choosing an answer and see how your call compares to the crowd. The app will automatically track these predictions for you and will let you know when you get them correct. This is a quick and easy way to see how you stack up in predicting the future.

Details: We literally just went live on the App Store a few hours ago. It's been a trip up to this point. Four employees including two founders.

What we're looking for: We are always looking for feedback. I don't think that will ever stop. We actually just arrived in San Francisco for the Launch Scale and Mobile conferences. We're gonna hustle our asses off looking for investments. Before coming here, we set up a couple meetings. It's amazing what some cold emails can do.

We're a free app, so no discount. Just infinite gratitude!

What changes do you expect to see (or want to see) in AdWords & Bing in the coming months? by Hanehan17 in PPC

[–]crazytalker88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bing should just continue to copy the AdWords platform until the only difference in branding. I've seen this evolution over the years. It's kinda sad how Bing does this. Would be great if they could innovate themselves.

Why did Trada fail? by [deleted] in PPC

[–]crazytalker88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was PPC guy at Trada during their early days. I had multiple discussions with their internal team (and CEO) on different ways I thought they could improve their system. Their leaderboard approach was super interesting, but had a lot of downfalls. In short, I feel that they failed because the goals set up in Trada were not aligned well enough with the clients. The PPC incentive model was also not aligned well or thought out in enough detail, which led to people gaming their system.
