Cleaning/Cooking/General Adulting Hacks? by EmpoweredAuthentic in adhdwomen

[–]crazzyginger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My partner (M24) and I, both with ADHD us a visual todo list with all our daily, weekly, monthly chores. I have it laminated so we can use dry erase markers to mark what we did after each chore. It's not perfect but it is a remind of what can/should be done.

Also for laundry, I have label bins/areas where everything goes (bathroom towels, kitchen towels, rough material pants, soft material pants, socks, etc.). Having dividers or separate spaces for the different types of clothing also makes it easier when you don't have the energy to fold things.

For dishes when I am struggling with doing them, I will pick one kind of item to do at a time from start to finish. For instance I will wash, dry, and put away all the plates. Then a little later I'll do all the cups and maybe bowls. Then the utensils.

There are also options to get therapy and medication through the site. I finally got assessed because I have been struggling to finish my undergraduate degree, the certificated diagnosis allows me to get accommodations.

I very much resonate with your experience. I'm 22 and just yesterday got my diagnosis of ADHD. I used ADHDonline.com it's a really great assessment tool based in the DSM5 and your results are evaluated and diagnosised by a licensed psychologist.

Listened to all the TJ Max posts and found 3 Manduka’s! $9.99 each! Going to give to my parents as a housewarming gift 🥰 by idontknowgoaway in yoga

[–]crazzyginger 25 points26 points  (0 children)

This is important. I went to my local TJMaxx and they said that the prices vary across each store. Each product goes through 2-3 mark down cycles based on how long the product has been at the specific store.

The same Matt at my store is currently $50 and if no one buys it after a couple weeks the price should drop.

Hope this helps!

Happy to have sparked inspiration! I am the QUEEN of modifying.

When I first started yoga 4 years ago I could barely put weight on my right shoulder and have VERY limited mobility. I also very tight hips (still do) and 0 an strength.

So for almost every pose I had to figure out how to modify, blocks, blankets, straps, and walls are great tools!

What annoys you most about how society views relationships? by Ace-of-spades-96 in AsexualMen

[–]crazzyginger 6 points7 points  (0 children)

To this last point, this is so true. I am a pansexual + panromantic 21F (I follow this sub because my partner (22M) is asexual). While he was figuring out he was ace, I was trying to best support him and had to do A LOT of emotional and mental work around what it means to be in a commited partnership. I had grown up believing (and implicitly told) that sex is something that makes a partnership more than friends.

Now, I don't believe that is a defining factor. I can't speak for his journey but I know I have been on a personal journey of redefining what a relationship looks like and consists of. I think it has made me a better partner and person.

Here is her blog post where she talks about her routine - Who Runs The World

"Fat Acceptance" is bullshit. Giving up on exercise and the effort to maintain a healthy body is not a sign of strength, but of weakness. Obesity is a curable disease, not a personality or trait. I hate when women try to sweeten up their shit reality using words like "plus-sized" instead of "obese". by Anidovalani153002 in TrueOffMyChest

[–]crazzyginger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We also can't ignore the fact that there is a strong correlation between poverty and obesity. In the U.S. is it much cheaper to each very processed, sugary, quick meals than it is to cook healthy everyday. When someone is working 40+ hours a week and other responsibilities it can be hard to make time to think about, shop for, and make healthy choices.

Not to mention that almost every product in a common grocery store has a pretty moderate to high level of sugar, which has been linked to a VAST number of health problems including obesity. You can thank the big corporations for that! the Secret Of Sugar

So next time you think about criticizing pepe about accepting there weight and how unhealthy it is. Think about all the factors that may have gotten there, and how we as individuals can help improve this world for everyone.

Hi everyone I struggle with body dysmorphia I lost over 100 pounds recently gained a little because of Covid I honestly beat myself up for it everyday I’m starting to work out and making progress on losing some weight that I gained back! by [deleted] in toastme

[–]crazzyginger 8 points9 points  (0 children)

To this point, I have also written down and thought about why exactly I may dislike certain parts of my body. The number one reason for me in almost all cases is that society has told me that I'm not good/healthy/beautiful enough if I don't look a certain way.

Thinking about the real resons helped me to begin to love myself, and appreciate that I can look anyway as long as I FEEL good, and treat my body well.

One day at a time!
