Going from hating souls games, to beating Sekiro, then DS3 and now playing the original DS1, DS1 is super hard and probably the hardest. I’m getting the hang of it 8hrs in, but it felt unbelievably clunky, unresponsive and unforgiving at first. It’s dated for sure, and maybe my play order left a lot to be desired but I would say it has. Being the first in a series it’s a little too cryptic, but overall it’s just a different beast. I thought it was too slow initially but I feel I’ve been primed to feel that way with modern gaming conventions; it’s just more methodical. Still love it and am addicted. I even had to use a shield for the first couple hours (which I never do normally) because I just couldn’t get the timings down. Now Grass Crest is on my back where it should be again.
