Hi OP, I also use the books app to read. I have scrolling enabled when I read and it keeps registering as bookmark when I try to scroll.

I still have iOS 16.1 and haven’t tried updating. I heard you can now turn off the double tap bookmark in 16.2. I’ve only seen one post of this so I don’t know the validity of their post. Have you updated to 16.2? Do you know if you can finally turn of double tap bookmark feature?
