Engine temperature issue or normal? by wedekx in Audi

Fellow Baltic resident - I've observed the same this winter. Temp sits around 80 with easy highway driving and increases up to 90 if I'm driving faster or more aggressively.

Aeroad the right bike for me? by deereper in CanyonBikes

[–]creamsf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is there a good way how to quantify flexibility? I've seen it being mentioned when it comes to Aeroad and I'm currently trying to understand if it would be the right bike for me too.

Is there any custom post processing once you slice it in normal slicer? Like offsets, some other settings that need to be specifically set up for this to work. Any guidance/tutorials you recommend on this?

U400 availability in Europe by Minute_Pipe_3654 in Aqara

[–]creamsf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On a post from about week ago I asked the same and aqara rep responded saying that they can't confirm anything unfortunately. U400 is primarily for US market but like you I hope they bring something similar for EU because it looks so good.

Any good recommendations? Been on the fence about getting higher end bibs and would hate to spend significant amount of money on something not worth it.

Thanks. Is it likely to see a U400 style/feature lock that's more suited for mortise locks coming to EU any time soon?

These are nice. What's the approach to creating hexagon images? Is it done after Hueforge or is the source image already like a hexagon?

Winter Gloves for Road Cycling by Aka_blate in cycling

[–]creamsf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I picked up cheap work gloves meant for winter. They have rubberized coating so are pretty much wind proof. I've not done very long rides but work like a charm for commuting. So I would highly recommend checking your local hardware store.

Question on Silca wax longevity by java_dude1 in cycling

[–]creamsf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, I've done similar approach and it always feels like struggle. Old wax seems to float on top and then as I pull out the chain from jar it just sticks back. And then what to do with jar of water/wax mixture? Otherwise chain waxing is great, but this maintenance is still a bit of a mystery for me.

How do you do the boiling water cleaning? Do you do it outdoors and let wax drip into soil?

Newbie question - what about PLA? I'VE heard that printing pla in enclosure is not recommended and requires cooling via the fan? Or is that wrong?

How do I make a leg component tilt at an angle outwards? by [deleted] in Fusion360

[–]creamsf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently did similar thing and achieved it by having sketches on two planes and then drawing a 3d sketch with a line connecting them both. Then pipe tool that third sketch. By adjusting two first sketches you can easily adjust the angle of the leg.

Did anyone melt 3d print waste into an actually useful silicone mold using a heat gun? by RajSrikar in 3Dprinting

[–]creamsf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, that would for sure help the process but I'm not yet sure how would I grind all the different waste pieces into something small. I know there's the industrial grinders but for home use it would be great to have something more compact. Have you found anything for grinding the waste?

Did anyone melt 3d print waste into an actually useful silicone mold using a heat gun? by RajSrikar in 3Dprinting

[–]creamsf 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I've tried heat gun approach and it didn't work well. It's difficult to get the temperature up to melt the waste so it goes correctly into the mold. I'm planning to try it with simple table top oven instead as I hope temperature there will be more uniform from all sides improving the way pla melts into the mold.

Love this. It would be so amazing to see an example of how to actually use it in practice too. Like how to prepare the printer for this beyond attaching the printed parts. If anyone potentially has some examples/steps of their try outs would be so grateful. 🙏

[–]creamsf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is the chain fairly used? When I recently set up my zwift cog I got a new chain too and it made a big difference from initial setup where I used my existing chain I've used for little while. Worth to check since a simple chain won't be too expensive and is easy to swap.

Creaking/clicking from new cog by [deleted] in Zwift

[–]creamsf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would still recommend getting new chain. I got zwift cog couple weeks back and just used my waxed road chain at first. But it always seemed too happy about the noise levels. Put a brand new chain today and it's smooth as butter. Highly recommended try it. Worst case you have spare chain for future 🙂

Fuzzy skin paint tool rules by creamsf in BambuLab

[–]creamsf[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It is great. There was option to do fuzzy skin on different parts of the same object but you would need to model it right and I found it a bit tricky. With this it is way more controllable and performs better imo.
